Ramsgate game segregated

I have just recieved this from Arran Ayres

Guys,

FYI,

Ramsgate Chairman Richard Lawson has announced that segregation will be introduced at the Ramsgate v Margate League Cup fixture at Southwood on Tuesday evening (12th September).

In a statement to the Ramsgate website he confirmed "Having spoken to the safety advisors at both Ramsgate and Margate football clubs, and the relevant officials, we feel that it will be prudent to segregate on Tuesday night. Bearing in mind recent incidents of trouble throughout the area, particularly in Broadstairs, we want to make sure there are no incidents that could propogate the problems that have been happening. Both clubs are looking forward to the game and want it to go off incident-free, and we both feel this is the message we want to send to our supporters. So segregation will happen on Tuesday night and we ask all true supporters of both clubs to work with us and we will ensure that the match goes off incident-free."

In my job i hear things. I have heard from lets say the horses mouth that they ( the Chav class)are looking to cause trouble in side or outside. These little s***s need stamping on and quickly.

I havent got a pass GW.Does that mean I have to pay.Even after half-time?

Funny,I turned up to their game on Saturday about 10 minutes into the second half(because of work again)& the guy asked me if I had a ticket. I said "no". Then the other chap said that I was the "driver"(because I had my uniform on) so I nodded & went in for free. No doubt they will be looking out for me now. Sorry Rams no back payments from me but I wont mind paying the entrance fee for the last 35 minutes tomorrow night if thats whats required.

Will they be escorting me to the other end now then for the safety of the Ramsgate supporters l.o.l.

Historically Margate fans have been well behaved including times of provication. Bricks thrown at us at Chelmsford, firerworks thrown at Folkestone. Then we just stepped aside until the idiots got bored and left.

Just have to make sure we rise above any baiting by anyone whether they be Ramsgate fans or outsiders.

As is always the way with the idiot element - they neither have interest in the clubs or the football, just causing trouble. Ignore them and they soon go away.

I'm sure that in all seriousness there wont be any trouble.Thats not what we are there for & I'm sure the same applys to the Ramsgate fans too.

Sometimes segregation can ignite trouble rather than deter it.The announcement is sure to "up the attendance" on the night & by that I mean that the element mentioned in the statement,in surrounding areas which are NOT football related & those that normally do not go to football matches may well turn up tomorrow night now..

Hopefully that wont be the case at all. Lets hope everyone enjoys the game, segregated or not & that whatever the result the losers dont take it too badly.

Correct me if I'm wrong but both sets of fans havent had any sort of trouble there in the past so why should it be any different tomorrow night. I think the club are overestimating the amount of fans that will be turning up for this particular game.Sorry, segregation & statements like these in amongst the announcement do nothing but highlight things in the wrong fashion. It highlights the need when thre isnt any.(however I am not the judge of that & its just my usual personal opinion). Segregation dosent get my backing but segregation it is,like it or not!

May the best team win on the night. And may the best supporters be those that accept defeat gracefully.

I think it's a smart move to insert segregation because it emphasises that we mean business by not letting these tykes get in.

Don't reckon they'll be any trouble because, if it really is 600-odd, it will be the most loyal fans.

So as not to be complacent however, I think this needs to be maintained when we play you on Boxing Day because that's when the rats might start turning up.
