Essex youth football

I know a number of dads and kids in my locality who are involved with football at under 10,11,12's level. Some of the stories they tell me of the behaviour of some of the teams players, coaches and parents is really concerning.

We are talking plenty of foul and abusive language by players, coaches and parents, plus physical violence and abuse of the ref. We are also talking coaches at this level encouraging their players to dive, and pull shirts.

It appears in South East Essex a lot of the problems come from clubs in the Canvey and Basildon areas and involves clubs who have links to senior teams. I was told of one female chav type coach who runs and under 10 team and uses many F'S and C'S etc in her half time team talk to the kids.

The Essex FA really need to stamp this out, and coaches who behave inappropriately should be banned. So much for codes of conducts and charters etc.

Simple solution.Design a fa juniour managers course to be taken by every manager of a junior team.Include touchline conduct, communication with parents and children, amongst other things.Give everyone a region who has to go out and look at managers conduct and take away licences for people who do not comply.Have yearly refreshers and include warm ups for young players and futher courses for managers to improve and tie it in with the physcology stuff that the fa are promoting.

cider, the example has to come from the top...take away 30-40-50 thousands screaming supporters and you will hear the same things as at a non league or youth game <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

If a manager at the top acts in a certain way he gets removed from the touchline and if he carries on he would face a ban. This does not happen in youth football to my knowledge.Cannot agree also that managers at the top act like and give out the same instructions as the majority of non league managers.

My understanding Cider is that once you see the benefits that the FA Charter brings, and the attention it brings to your club from, funders to attracting new players, it doesnt look very good the behaviour aspect as it is hard enough to win it easy to lose it, lasts for 3 years and can be taken away any time, then back to square one.But in answer to your question it makes people fully aware you have codes of conduct in place and what you want from supporters through to management, committee, players, coaches and managers.
