Lost 4-3.

Wood went 3-0 up after 20 minutes.Town were shocking first half.

Town replaced the highly ineffective Micheal Black at half time, and we were a team tranformed.

Got back to 3-3 with goals by Hammett(2) and Smith.Town looked like they would seal the game at any stage, when the ref awarded Wood a non-existant penalty on 85 minutes.

Myself and many of my fellow supporters were not given the option to vote for the proposed colours of a new away kit.So as such, i still regard the original yellow as the 'proper' away kit........

Was there a vote for the yellow kit then upon formation? If so who voted for that?

I would like to see the next away kit like the Man City away shirt of the 70's with two diagonal stripes, now that looked good!

Good fightback though, were both teams playing their strongest teams?

That seems to imply that Black was responsible on his own for the 3-0 scoreline. He may have contributed to the 'nil' but the three was down (again) to some shocking defending.

A very poor first half with Wood proving just how strong they are with their crossing and deserved their lead. However, we spurned two very good chances to get back to 3-2. Campbell lost control when in sight of goal and then Hammatt decided to go for glory when a simple pass to Crace would have left him with an easy shot. Second half was much improved but I do wonder whether Wood thought the game over and got lazy. Credit to Smith and Hammatt for the goals though. Hammatt's first just proved that if you keep putting the keeper under pressure and challenge at every opportunity then you will get a positive result sometime. I didn't see their the foul that won their pen but everyone else has said the player just fell over his own feet. I have to say though, what a well taken pen it was-very low and right into the corner-nearly unstoppable. We kept pushing after that and had a few good chances but faiiled to convert. Wood deserved their win but a good second half display did lift a few heads. Still would have liked to see more if Hughes and Ritchie. they are the type opf player who will run at defenders and when you are up against a big side this is vital.

No stripes or quaters please.

How about something like this.A nice dark blue.At £11 each.Arky could make quite a profit selling them for £30 a pop.

As I've tried to explain to you before, we need completely different colours to our home kit so we can have double the range of merchandise & make more money for the club.
Can't see us being allowed to wear that kit as it's too near to the ref's colours.
However if it was British Racing Green with a Lime Green band, that would be wonderful.

1.That kit would be probably be perfectly acceptable with referees as it is, and certainly with white or white/blue socks.(otherwise why would they sell it?)

2.Regarding merchandise. You could still sell the little car kits,Replica shirts etc.The only merchandise you would lose out on is a few mugs, pennants, and the odd away scarf.Hardly big sellers.Probably grossing less that £200 between them.A sum that would be more than made up for in increased sales of a good looking dark blue away shirt (would go great with jeans by the way). And more importantly it LOOKS like the sort of shirt Enfield Town should be wearing.

Green with lime stripe?? Do me a favour! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bounce.gif" alt="" />

Spend a lot of time selling things for the Town then do you?.

No. your the expert at that. How much money do you estimate you have taken in selling red and black items such as mugs/badges..etc

I would hazard a guess that the vast majority of 'away colours' profit comes from replica shirts (and maybe car kits). Both of which would be unaffected by having a dark blue away kit.

PMSL!!!

You really are a wind up merchant Arky!!!

In all seriousness, my view on the selection of a new away kit is as follows:

A board member, Arky, Jim, a player and a society member should get together and draw up a shortlist (maybe 3-5) of kits that they would recommend and are readily obtainable to the society. There should then be a society vote and the winning kit adopted. Surely that would keep even Ma..... sorry LS happy!

umm... but you would need to be a member to be able to vote, and there are lots of supporters who are not, so you have now excluded them!!!!

About 2K so far, the split would actually be approx 50% on badges, 40% Shirts, 10% Sundries.
