No comment from Gavin about the game on Sat?

Recommended Posts

After being stuck on the tube for 1h 45 mins on Sat I eventually arrived at half time to see Hertford 2-0 nil down. Switching to 3-5-1 for the second half to match Edgware. I'd say second half was fairly even but probably Edgware having the slightly better chances and taking one of them following poor control from a Hertford defender in the box.

I must say though the real entertainment started after the final whistle....

So you missed Gavin and his mate singing your praises (NOT) in the first half?

He seems to have disappeared, as have lots of the threads on the CCL forum which he started during his mad couple of days at the end of last week. Red card?

Can you PM me what you saw at the end of the game? I missed everything!

obviously i missed anything that happened during the game as i had 'tunnel vision' !....but i saw GAV walking towards the hertford fans with a big stick after the game ! ha ha....also i was lucky enough to be on the coach that went past GAV when he was at the bus stop !...he banged on the side and threw stones at the coach and was giving it large...but when the coach stopped and the fans jumped out he ran for his life !....funniest thing i think i've ever seen !

HTFCOne has summed it pretty well...

Funniest thing I've ever seen at a football match!

Nearing the end of the game a group of Hertford fans go and stand behind Gav and give him a bit of stick with singing etc. Final whistle Gav turns round and throws his beer towards the Hertford boys who start giving him more verbals.. Gav gets half way round the pitch when someone shouts out calling him a bald [****!!****] and how could he be a hairdresser so he picks up a 4ft bit of wood from behind the goal and runs back towards them giving it. Hertford boys dont back down and Gav puts its down and walks away. I was stood with Blues06 pissing ourselves with most of the Edgware fans.

Anyway.. HTFC had a coach. I'm walking down the high street to the tube (kebab in hand) and walk past Gav.. I phone HTFCOne and tell him I just bumped into him and it turns out HTFC coach is stuck in the car park.

10 mins later I'm just on the tube and I get a call back from HTFCOne pissing himself. As the Hertford coach pulled out of the car park and went down the road they saw Gav who started abusing them, coach driver pulled over and the fans got off and chased him down the road!!!!!

Some of the Hertford fans decided to walk into Gavin and his mates area with about 10 mins. to go, when we went across we acknowledged him in a nice way, all nice and friendly at first.

We started singing and completely drowned him out, at the final whistle he was not happy with that, Gavin made a comment, dont know what it was, to a Hertford fan and he started to walk away, next thing I know airhorns were being thrown back and forth.

Then Gavin picked up what looked like to be some sort of a scaffolding pole and came to charge us, there were young children in this section, and a airhorn nearly hit my Daughter.

I walked away back to the clubhouse and Gavin was waiting outside with his mate, I told him that a airhorn nearly hit my Daughter and he apologised and said he did not start it.

Just then the rest of the Hertford fans arrived round the corner, Gavin and his mate ran out of the ground, all the Hertford fans were saying at this time was come on Gavin lets have a pint, but I think he feared something else.

They shouted at him to come back but he dissapeared.

We left the clubhouse at 5.30 and after a lenghty delay in trying to get out of the car park because of some stupid persons parking off we went in the coach.

A little way up on the main road Gavin and his mate were spotted, they spat at the coach and looked like they threw something at the coach, but not sure about that.

The coach driver stopped and opened his doors to let some of the supporters off, some supporters ran after him, while others stood by, Gavin and his mate ran up the road so fast he just seem to dissapear into thin air.

Well now you know and if Gavin is still on the forum perhaps he can clarify his side to the events.

What will stick in my memory is when he picked up this pole and I feared the worst, I thought it would have only been friendly banter when we went into his area, I met him last year at Hertford and he did seem to come across as a ok bloke when we had a pint together.
