Not necessarily the league at fault here. I'm sure the club could choose to play their midweek fixtures on a Monday (as they used to) or Wednesday. Either way it would still clash with Sky fixtures (the might Royals vs Man City tonight and Champions League on Wednesday) but might solve some of the problem.

We couldn't play on a Monday night, our fitness levels as part timers would make that too much !

Perhaps midweeksaint would like to elaborate on his oft quoted contention that City used to play midweek fixtures on a Monday or Wednesday.Since the installation of floodlights forty odd years ago the Club have staged League fixtures on a Wednesday on six occasions and twenty five on a Monday(not including Xmas holidays). Of these 25 no fewer than 11 were in March or April(Easter Monday perhaps) and 7 in August(Bank Holiday mayhap).I think you will find that Tuesday was always favourite.

Walter

"Oft quoted"? Not in this thread! Clearly you misunderstand me. I am suggesting that perhaps the club might consider a Wednesday (or Monday) if there is a problem with clashes with televised Champions League matches depressing gates. As for Monday, is it not a fact that the club played midweek league fixtures on a Monday night in the mid/late nineties (when Spurs used CP for reserve fixtures and played their midweek games on Tuesdays)? Obviously weren't that many matches given your stats but as that was when I started going down to CP that is my memory of midweek games. Can't think I made all seven of the others but I'll check my programme collection and see.

Can you fill me in on the current lux of the floodlights and how it compares to previous seasons and Corintian Casuals?
