Ramsgate pre-match thread

well somebody had to start it in a seperate thread.

Despite our fears of injuries etc. , i've had a rethink on this, and think we should field our main players.

There is a chance we could be out of 2 cups in the next 6 days and then it would be a bit doom and gloom.

If we go out of the FA Cup, we may be grateful for the Westview cup

Fleet will be a big test,so i think it should be the cliched approach of one game at a time, and lets go for it on Tuesday.

It may just be that we will be glad of these midweek games in Nov/Feb/March if we are able to progress in the WV cup.

We may in those months be looking for midweek fixtures to keep up fan interest ,and give a few players some competitive games,so i'm now thinking we should take Tuesday very seriously indeed and endeavour to get the win.

For me progress in this cup is not important but I am looking for an improved performance after Saturday and to get back on track. We know what to expect from Ramsgate. It is the biggest game of their season so far. They will come at us and will work hard and put themselves about a lot. That could work in our favour. We have a lot of experienced heads in the dressing room and they will have played in games like this before.

I shall go & watch Tuesday night Michael (just after half time because of work commitments),try to enjoy a game of football & shall hope we come away victorious naturally, but losing wouldnt be the end of the world for me.

Now,losing a league game, whether that be against Ramsgate or whoever,or even our F.A.Cup ties, would affect me much much more.Cant get up much enthusiasm for tomorrow nights game.Just hope it dosent backfire on us if we DO put out a good team Tuesday night.Hopeful that things will be put right before the WEEKEND of course so if we can do that, with the first team out there,at the same time as beating our neighbours & at the same time, getting no injuries then all well & good. Then that WOULD have been worth it & the game will have had proved significant in my eyes after all.

I find it hard to believe that the Ryman league have started this competition in the week that most Ryman clubs start their FA cup campaign. Surely they must know that most teams will not risk injuring key players.

Personally, I want us to win everything in sight! Like many of you others if Saturdays defeat had not happened then I would have not minded if we gave lesser lights in the squad get a game. This always gives Trotty a chance to gauge them for League and Cup action as and when injuries and suspensions hit! But the best way of getting over a hiding is to go out there and try and give as good as we got!

We will not thrash the Rams! But we should put out a decent side and give them a good game. I share Michaelmichaels view that a 1-0 win is just as good as 5-2 win.

We must not, however, get injuries etc for Saturdays game. Fleet will revel in their role of underdogs and have only lost the once!
