From today's Newham Recorder...

'Council cost APSA'

"A c.ock-up of massive proportions by the local council saw the enforced postponement of London APSA's FA Vase match with Colney Heath on Saturday.

"Much to the embarrassment of everyone at the club, and more probably to the humiliation of the Olympic borough, the pitch at the Terence Macmillan Stadium had not been marked out."

Article goes on to say APSA are waiting to find out if the game will be replayed or forfeited.

Taken from The Non-League Daily...

From reports received from both clubs and the referee in respect of the unplayed tie between Essex Senior League London APSA and Spartan South Midlands Leaguers Colney Heath, an FA Vase Sub-Committee has decided that the tie will now be played at Colney Heath next Tuesday, 19th September.

If the scores are level after 90 minutes, extra-time will be played and if the scores remain level after the playing of extra time, the winner shall be decided by penalties.

Only those players qualified by 12noon last Friday will be eligible to play.

London APSA will re-imburse the travelling expenses incurred by Colney Heath for the unplayed game on Saturday.

London APSA will not be able to claim travelling expenses for the game on 19th September.

Colney Heath are now the "home" team and will be responsible for notifying the match officials, providing the match programme and all the other responsibilities of the home team.

London APSA will now be reported to the full FA Vase Committee for a breach of the Competition Rules concerning the lack of pitch markings.

The winners will play in the Second Round Qualifying on Saturday, 23rd September.

If London APSA are in the Second Round Qualifying, any possible replay will only be allowed to be played if the stadium and pitch have been inspected and approved by the Essex Senior League, otherwise any replay will be played on the opponents ground.

In case anyone doesn't already know the winners are away to Clapton which is an incredibly long journey for APSA if they get tbrough at CH.

Isn't life dreadful! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Seriously thought I hope our friends at APSA are not penalised any more than they are being for a situation which is not of their making though I have to ask how it is that no one in their club noticed that the lines hadn't been marked out on the day and had it rectified immediately.
