The Reserves are a brand new set of lads this year. They'll learn and improve as the season goes on, hope they can lift themselves for the next game.

Fair enough, you do get some weird and wonderful results in the Essex & Herts Border Comb.

 

A couple seasons ago I watched Heybridge Swifts Res tear our ressies apart 9-0.

Spent the best part of it being dragged kicking and screaming around the Essex County Show at Barleylands nr Billericay. Still it was worth the "brownie" points I accumulated with 'er indoors. Points which I will use up today when I go over to Bowers to watch the Hammers v Villa.

I did manage to get back to Bowers to catch the last half hour v Brentwood Town. It was already 3-2 when I got there, then Carl Griffiths added a classy fourth.

Brentwood weren't bad but they weren't great either. To their credit, they do like to get it down and play. Also it was nice to see my old mate Amin Levitt back in the game, he's on Brentwood's management team.

I see Swifts were at it again last night, thrashed Stansted 9-0!!!!
