Boreham Wood game

Good point GW.

For all the talk of signing defenders, i think our 'weaknesses' are in midfield and attack, where we have no real options to bring on anyone else when its not firing/players injured.

It sounds like yesterday, we could have done with a different pair of legs in midfield-was Abbott who has been playing well and full of energy- just exhausted, and a different type of player-maybe a big bully type centre forward in attack)

He is a thought-maybe RT should play centre forward !!

We have a core of 12 quality outfield players(i include DS ),but its a bit thin beyond there;and i still think Wild and JD are ok as a defensive partnership

I heard Abbott wasnt feeling too well yesterday. We could have done with an experienced midfielder to bring on yesterday and if we had a target man forward we could have given Hockton the day off. Borehamwood with their lightening quick attackers certainly made mincemeat of our defence, however we really were pushing for goals so they just made the most of the players being out of position and finished every time. They had a gameplan which was evident but I wont go into it as I bet scouts dont bother going to games before they play us, they just read this forum for tips.

Well, I looked forward to being able to see this top-of-the-table side taking apart the newly promoted Boreham Wood with relish. What did I (and all the other travelling support) get? The same top-of-the-table side humbled and taken apart. Nuff said - lets get on with the season (long way to go yet) and get behind the Gate. We'll take Ramsgate apart on Tuesday night just to get our confidence up again! Only wish I could be there!!!

Ah, Wholeside, you are a wise man indeed!

It is customary in such circumstances to gloat over your opponents misfortune! It is rare to find a victor who offers praise and kind words.

I bid a thousand congratulations to Boreham Wood and look forward to being your hosts for the return game.

But it would be useful,if you can see your way to doing so ,if you will leave Mr "hat-trick" Cox at home!

Abdullah the humble.
