Not since december last year have we lost in the league.

If todays performance is anything to go by it won't be the last.

 

Long Ball, Long Ball, Long Ball, Long Ball.

 

Sorry guys but this is not the Hornchurch that I love and support.

True - not a good result, but credit to Bury for packing their goal and protecting their keeper (he was their youth keeper, but when called upon he made some excellent saves).

 

Yes, the referee made some / a lot of controversial decisions, but Bury took their chances - the first goal was a bad defensive error and the second an unnessessary penalty given away by a rash tackle when the Bury sub had lost his chance of getting in a shot.

 

Urchins had far and away the most chances, but could not put them away - they lost, but it is certainly not a disaster.

Sorry to disagree, but we did not have that many scoring chances,(2 in the first half and about four in the second).
I think Bury dealt extremely well with our attacking option of Long Ball, with that dealt with they sat back and absorbed the pressure and struck on the break, it ain't rocket science.

Thought that Bury deserved to win -just. Their back four coped well and that was the story of the game really. Possibly our two front men that started the game, Lee and Sadler were very similar types of players, strong and willing but with no grace. When 'Jesus' Simon Parker came on it was definately better to watch and we seemed to create more rather than relying on Mark Janney's speed on the right. Bury I think will be in the top five at the end of the season so we now know what we have to do. Great vocal support today and 500 plus, fantastic. Pity about the match officials who were beyond poor. Looking forward to Tuesday night and Canvey.

lets have some perspective thru the disappointment of losing....

 

to win this league will not be a pretty spectacle....all the fancy footwork in the world will not get us promotion...colin has won this league and we have been promoted from it.....he and we know what it takes...12 points from 15...second in the league and already the complaints.... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />...come on guys...do you wanna win this league or play fancy football....?

 

and don't give me all that bollox about 'urchin freeflowing football'...we have always knocked it long when we had too as far as I can remember....who says how short or long a pass should be... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" />

 

yes we were poor today and so were they but we still had enough chances to win the game and we also had some strange officiating....

Their no. 5 had a very good game.

 

Their right back looked like their weakness,but we did not exploit it and kept playing the ball into their strong areas.

The match officials were terrible and even the Bury management were bemused by some of the decisions given in their favour.
