Friday Papers 8th September

Both papers have articles in todays paper regarding the council's rejection of a meeting with the rebels...they have made good reports...about the truth that the present council don't want to meet us..its been all hot air about us sending letters to them to get a meeting.....

The mayor who had incited a meeting with us..was the one on Wednesday who turned down the request..because as he put it He did not like the proposal !

I had written to him almost 4 weeks ago asking him to set up a concordial meeting so we can all just get to know us and then put into place a working agenda and our views on how we can work together...instead I got a reply from the mayor saying NO we had to write an agenda and tell them who was coming to the meeting ..of course if they did not like anyone we were bringing they of course could have cancelled the meeting slowing the pace down even more...

Wednesday the Mayor David Mac Issac had a chance to stop all this to and froing but choose to vote against us having that meeting ...therefore that is why I was angry and was interviewed by the local press... and the reports are in the local papers...

The mayor should resign along with all those who voted against us !

The only sensible thing to do now IMO is to fight the local elections , and the best one to start with should be David macissac himself the current Mayor as he is up for re election in my ward of Wexham - upton lea next May....

The election sub committee will have a meeting soon to put our plans into action...

and this time ..all our members must do their part...we need everyone of you to help...

we must get rid of the colilition ruling party at the Town hall...for more reasons than the football club..because everything they touch turns to a ball of chalk....

just ask the residents of broom and popular in Langley..humans should not have to put up with repair works that was suppose to take 13 weeks in now runing in for over 24 months...what a disgrace...but thats only the tip of the ice berg...

chris s personally

up the rebels..

we are the rebels....

Chris, what actually happens if one of the STST members were to get elected to local council? Following the successes of the last election, when are the plans starting for the campaign in May? I certainly hope it can be a well planned and thought out process rather than a lot of the last minute rush jobs which appear to be associated with the club and Trust.

I'm afraid the approach of Mr Macissac is the same sort of approach I suffer daily in my professional life. The world is full to the brim of paper shufflers, who issue ream upon ream of letters, memos, and e-mails, followed by endless meetings discussing a problem, only to eventually do sweet bugger all about it, but at least they are seen to have spent hours "addressing" it!

I agree the only way forward is to stand for election, but as I am a resident of Ayrshire now I can't see me winning many votes on a Slough Town FC ticket up here!

However, keep going Chris....good will always prvail.......EVENTUALLY!

am looking forward to helping build on the successes of the last election campaign, but i think its a long time to wait before taking more action. yes the next one will require a lot of planning but something should be done before then IMO.

gary thats why i posted this, so we can all act together and do a proper job this time round...

If someone gets elected so be it...I am sure they will contribute to the council than the shower we have in charge right now !

Ans as for a letter in writing ..Gary we are wasting our time matey ! I wrote to the Mayor 4 weeks ago to instigate the meeting he wanted..but came back with demands and quite precise and demanding ! and he showed us all last wednesday that he does not really want to engage us at all...

The only way to make them un easy is to put up candidates for the elections in may 2007...

We have wasted 3 years almost before they have the chance to sit around a table and put our views and asperations before them and work together..its not rockets science..but they have chossen not to do anything...so be it...

Elections 2007 ... candidates please....

cheers chris s

Chris, would it not be a good idea to use the possiblity of standing in an election as a "bargaining point". Continue trying to contact the countil up until the May elections with the view to also standing in the elections, but if they change their views maybe step down in one or two areas?

tom..i would think this lot would trick us...

not worth a drip off the end of my nose !

If we are going to fight them in the elections then this would be the best way to fight them..enough is enough is a enough...our club will die if we dont get rid of them next may...

Gary ...the mayor had a chance on wednesday ..a request to open dialogue with us, plain and simple and he decide not to vote for that..the papers have reported that today ... correctly and true... They have decided...not us...

I think an open letter to the press as the last piece of action towards the council is a very good idea. As Gary has said you will have done publically what they have requested, if they then refuse a meeting after their terms its something that can always referred back to - compared to organising the elections this is something very small and could be a very important piece in the puzzle.

With Stokes you are dealing with a rather devious person. Don't forget his "Woof Woof" statement in the press that he denied making.

One of the dubious things that was said in the debate on Wednesday was by Stokes. He said (Chris or anyone else please correct me if I got it wrong) that he had offered a possible solution to the club by speaking to an STFC fan he knew who he bumped into in the High Street while shopping (no details of the possible solution were provided). He later saw the fan and asked what the response was, and was told that the fan didn't know who was in charge, so couldn't pass on the offer. He used this example to show how hard he had tried.

Now this came from the man who was insisting that everything had to be done in writing, yet apparently that doesn't apply to him. He is supposed to be in charge of a £160 million a year organisation, yet he conducts business by bumping into the wrong people in the High Street. As Rob Anderson asked "Surely you know how to use a phone book? They are in the phone book under Slough Town Football Club, surely you could manage that if you wanted to contact them?"

The motion called for minuted notes of the meeting to be taken, and a report issued to councillors. Anything less and Stokes would just sit through the meeting, in effect saying tough luck.

Another dubious statement came from Pat Shine who told the meeting that at the election count he had spoken to two Slough Town fans and had given them his phone number so that they could meet him to discuss these matters after the election---but they hadn't contacted him. Now I was at the count, and I don't believe that that happened, and it would be useful if BFR, Marcus etc could confirm whether they received such an offer (of course it wasn't in writing though).

Like it or not, we are dealing with some very dubious people, who are not interested in what we want, and will say and do anything to put us down.
