Yeading 0-2 Slough Town

Very good win on a very good pitch (credit to Yeading). We played really well today. They only had one real shot on target. Ryan Spencer scored from outside the area in the first half and Tony Boot scored in the second.

Nick Gyoury had a header off the bar and one narrowly wide. All-in-all a good performance. Hopefully we can beat Marlow and East Thurrock over the next week and we will be up there.

We are Slough though we can be good - and bad, so nothing's taken for granted!

Was a good performance by the lads, despite the fact it was the intention of the Yeading mob to send our boys to Hillingdon hospital. Thought they were a shocking team, nearly as bad as the referee was poor. Its just disappointing to see this is the quality of side we've fallen behind in the league.

Come on you rebels! On paper we should be getting 6 six points out of Marlow and East THurrock which will set us up nicely for Northwood in the new year. If we get maximum points in the next couple of days then we'll have nothing to fear facing the leaders, and if we could get a result there I think we've still something to play for this season.

Yeah its optimistic, but we've played well the last couple of matches, have got our squad looking like a squad again and have got a few goals. Keep it up boys!

Yes a good performance in all. I don't recall Yeading having a serious attack in the first half. We only looked like conceding on 2 occasions, but only from individual errors (i.e being dispossessed). Thought Boot, Spencer and Palmer had very good. After a lull, Boot looks fit and frisky again.

Yes, the ref was incompetent as Hell. The Yeading players, although taking the "boxing day" tag a little too literally, provided some of the best laughs. Their Xmas party must have been a right laugh, hehe

As we were cruising at 2v0, I found it humourous that Winston bemoaned Spencer for shooting rather than passing across goal where he was unmarked. Can't have it both ways, Sammy. Still, a tireless performance again showing why the fans demand his inclusion from the beginning.

As for Steve Hale, it's a shame. He seemed like a bloke who cared and tried to get the crowd involved. I think the rotation system at the start of the season did him no favours. But if Browne didn't think he was fit, why sign him in the first place and then bemoan his trip to Oz which I presume was known about well in advance? Another thing for us to scratch our heads over..

But nonetheless.. a Boxing Day victory away from home.. we've not been able to celebrate THAT for a while.

Let's get those 6 points, lads.

Was a very good team performance, but let's hope it continues as Tim Cook's Marlow side will be well up for it on Saturday, but I think the fact we'll be playing on a decent surface will be their downfall.

But back to today, Sammy, Tony and Ryan S all impressed. I think it was the best I've see Spencer play so far and even Deji looked interested when he came on. Wasn't expecting three points today, but we outplayed them and they resorted to physical stuff, which we did not respond to.

They could have had their number three and eleven sent off today, but the referee and the late linesman were both inept (again) and failed to spot a number of things correctly.

But, a good Xmas away win and a bout of Jingle Bells from the Slough faithful at the end!

A very good all round performance---including the gameplan!! We nuetralised an attack that has been scoring freely, and had all the good possession together with all the good chances. Thought the linesman was especially useless. Difficult to pick out a man of the match as there were a lot of good performances against an in form team. Lets hope we keep it up.

I thought the defence was excellent today, every one did well but the back 4 kept it together and looked unbreakable. Dean Palmer had a couple of rough patches but did quite well seeing as he has only returned from injury. Ryan Spencer was my man of the match and i also thought Michael Gilkes was awesome. Gary, you cant moan at that surely?!

Gilkes and Spencer are two of my 'lesser liked' figures in the team, but both had good games yesterday. Gilkes drifted centrally far too often though and Barras seemed less inclined to come forward so we often lacked width on the left as a result. This probably resulted in us using the right flank, and as a result, Spencer became more effective.

Barras is a good indicator of how the team feels. We often perform better in the second half when he pushes forward. If he is pushing forward in the first half we can tell that the defence feels that they are in control. If he stays back then the defence feel that they need to keep solid all accross the back. We need the midfield to lear to cover when Barras and Gilkes push up on the left, as we have been exposed several times that way. If we do then BArras may feel freer to press forward, he is one of the better crossers of the ball we have - especially from the by line
