We played very well today and worked hard for our well deserved point. I'm quite disapointed actually to come away with only a point seeing how we played in the first half hour as we were on fire.

We saw lots of fans of other teams at the services on the way back along with the Barnet team. We asked after Liam Hatch but they said he didn't travel as he was flu.

I also saw the Watford team coach on the motorway on the way back.

Spooky......what are you like on lottery numbers Graham?

Unfortunately, my selection of lottery nos is about as good as my usual predictions. Before today I was languishing below half way in Division 2 of the PL.

However, Sugden scoring against us is about as firm a bet as there being a young lady with her t*ts out on page 3 of The Sun. I'm just relieved the little git didn't get another right at the end of the 2nd half too.

Sounds like we could have been 3 up at half time which is encouraging. 1st time we've come away from Halifax with anything I believe.

Yesterday’s performance was the best I've seen since 'that' game 6 years ago in the FA Cup, with even the locally biased 'Yorkshire Sport' Sunday Newspaper reporting that Halifax endured "a first half which they could have been beaten out of sight". Too bloody right they could!

With the benefit of any early goal Fleet settled into a great rhythm and could have easily been 0-3 at half time with McDonald really prominent and creating panic in the 'Fax' defence every time he touched the ball. There's also a solidness about Fleet, with players covering each other and offering themselves for a pass. I can see there's a tendency to 'launch it' from the back but Fleet seem to have players who are comfortable on the ball so personally, I'd like to see them slow things down and find their passes more, but I'm sure that will come as confidence grows.

Apart from a 10/15 minute period in the second half where 'Fax' looked like they might pull things together, (they'd been a terribly disjointed outfit before hand) Fleet had the upper hand and controlled play for long periods. The 'fax' defenders must have wondered what hit them when Sodje came on, he ran them ragged, creating lots of space for Keeling to run in to.

On the whole an excellent performance although it could and should have been made even sweeter by collecting all 3pts.

Regards to all.

The Stats bear that out as well, BB - we had 12 shots to Halifax's 5 apparently and Halifax fans on their boartd aren't happy either.

I think the main thing we lack at present is the ability to kill off games - if we look at it - 2-0 up at Aldershot , 2-2 at Southport after twice being ahead and opposition reduced to 10 men, and the Halifax game - all probably could (and should?) have been converted into 3 points if we had that killer instinct, and even the York defeat could have brought a point.

Equally, whilst 3 players have done well in front of goal this season, it would be nice to see a few other midfielders/ defenders popping up to score now & then as well.
