Sort of!!

 

The picture is the cover of the Evening Post advertising a serialisation of the work of Arthur Train a novelist of the time, it was a work of fiction.

 

It is a crap read but prophetic as it is the very first time that somebody actually suggests that Germans are committing war crimes.

 

Pretty controversial because he had no evidence and confirms afterwards that he did not know at the time!!

 

Strange man loved his children, however never knew how old they were, they ussually remained 7 years old for about four years!!

I was under the impression that the Germans started mass desctruction of civilians along with pillaging and looting at Louvain in Belgium, less than a month into the war.

Plus the Bryce report in 1915 accused them of all kinds of wrong doing with women and children, although it was suggested that most of it was sensationalised for propaganda purposes, but no smoke without fire..

This was a novel, Bryce was a commissioned report considered by most at the time as propaganda, a better and more interesting read though!!
