Canvey Island Reserves v East Thurrock United Reserves at Park Lane tonight. Kick off 7.30pm.

 

Have today off so may well go along.

I'll probably pop down and watch the game between watching the England match in the clubhouse.

Couldn't care less about England these days - would rather watch the reserves to be honest.

The game finished 3-1 to East Thurrock in the end.

 

Whoever wore the number 8 shirt scored the Canvey goal.

 

Would it really be too much to ask for somebody just to grab a microphone before the start and announce the teams? Failing that, a teamsheet pinned outside the clubhouse would suffice.

 

It is always nice to know who is playing and it wouldn't take a lot of effort for somebody to tell us either.

Thanks Matt. Liked the look of the lad up front with the yellow boots, Reynolds. Looked very lively even though he didn't have a lot of support.

Nick Reynolds and Charlie Parker were up front. Charlie has shaved his head so is barely recognisable now.

 

Jon Stuart was no. 6, Stuart Batch no. 7. Glen Johnson was in goal and Matt Reade was the only other one I recognised.

To be honest since his hatrick Leon has looked less than his best in my opinion, a rest may do him good!

Last time I saw the Reserves play, Cameron Stewart was playing right midfield, last night he was playing leftback! (Still Captain though).

 

The two forwards and Matt Reade did particularly well. Reade appears to be in limbo at the minute - one of the best in the Reserves but can't quite break into the first team.

 

Stuart Batch was putting some great diagonal balls into the paths of the wingers, but it appears the problems our defence has in the first team extends to the Reserves as well.

I like what I've seen of Matt Reade so far. Derserves a run in the first team at some point.

i like leon gordon think hes a good striker & would have like to have seen him up front with hallett

Could well have played instead of Allan Tait last year for sure.
