Slough Town V AFC Wimbledon

Excellent performance by all players. Everyone wanted to be out there and give 110%.

My man of the match goes to the whole team. As others have said, very hard to decide on one player.

It was a very fast game, we stayed in formation 99% of the time, some good leadership by Steve, and I have a very sore throat.

The second half for me was good "fun" being surrounded by a hundred or so AFC fans shouting at the ref for any tiny thing. We had them completely rattled and frustrated.

Let's hope the players continue to remember their horrific performances at Bromley to keep them playing at the top of their game.

Bring on Tonbridge...COME ON REBELS

I assume you are the muppet with the Wimbledon flag over the railings at the North End of the ground!

You managed to make a total pratt of yourself last night mate, so why do you feel the need to compound the fact on here today I wonder?

Gary I think you saw it, when we stood behind the goal for the start of the game there was a Wimbledon flag hanging over the fence and as they were all down the other end I pulled it over so it wasnt showing, anyway a Wimbledon fan came up and said something to Warren about that was rude turning his flag over and to put it back I told him it was me and things got a bit heated. I think I just saw red because of the way we were treated at their place with segregation etc etc. I

also dont think he would of done it if they only had a hand full of fans. Mind you I notice anon never mentioned the six foot bloke that had a word with him as well. Anyway its not worth worrying about now, we had a great evening in the end.

I think it was because the bloke was really really really hard!

Or maybe it's just that he is a typical sanctimonious Wimbledon fan (second only to the FC United fans on this front if you ask me) and feels that they are a cut above he rest of us footy fans, and therefore can do just as they bloody well please!

Apparently he just hangs the flag up and then goes off, in honesty he's lucky I only turned it over the fence. If Phil will let us we should experiment with his famous Slough Town flag, lets hang it at the opposite end of where we are standing and see if we get it back in one piece. Wont happen though because Phil has more sense.

You mean like the one that told me in the second half that this game was "our cup final" and that is why we were playing better.

I was also told that it happens to them every week, their opposition always play better against them than other teams.

These are direct quotes from the person standing next to me.

its a shame that wallace is so easily injured, i would have liked to see eddie use him as a target man at least until a proper one can be brought in. anaclet has a lot to learn at the ryman level, in particular in noticed that he never jumps to try and win the ball when, unfortunately, we hoof it up the pitch. yes i know he is quiet a short player but he would be better off trying to win it rather than waiting for a taller defender to let the ball slip past him.

all in all a very good performance, if we can hold the defence solid like last night more often, then we can start working on our attacking play.

up the rebels, bring on tonbridge.

I did say to the bloke that it was a bit cheeky to stick it in our end, but wasn't really into having a fight about it (anyway had Ambassador Clements behind me). Chatted to him for 10 minutes and he seemed decent enough once it had all calmed down. Anyway Sue and Aiden have said they will stand in the Wimbledon end with a big Slough flag when we play them at Kingstonian with that programme picture of Radders cut out and stuck to their faces to scare anyone off.

Horsham rebel, I believe that may well be me, that you are talking about. So just beacause I said I feel that teams raise there game against us, that means that I think I am a cut above the rest of you footie fans, and can do as I bloody well please. I mean, you freely admitted that was the best you had played all season, was it just a coincidence, that it was against us.

I think you're being a bit harsh on me, I mean we had a reasonable chat with each other during the game, and wished each other all the best for the season at the end. Also I was not swearing and moaning about all the referee's decisions like a lot of the other Afc fans.

Haven't you gone past this whole 'cup final' excuse yet? Perhaps last season when it was new to us, and yes, there's a bigger than normal crowd, but we needed the points regardless of who we played last night.

As for best performance, not the case this season, and certainly not the case last season. Perhaps it was your cup final and the pressure got to your boys? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Gary - STFC

I don't have a problem with whether or whether not, teams raise their game against us. My problem is being told that I feel that I am above the rest of you footie fans, and feel as though I can do as I bloody well like, just beacause I said that I felt teams do. Does that make me such a bad person.

I am not one of these Afc fans who feel we have the god given right to be promoted just because of who we are, and how many fans we get. In my opinion Margate will probably win the league this year, and good luck to them.

Last night against you I felt as though a draw was probably the right result, although we had more of the game, we didn't really have many shots on targets, and you looked dangerous with McCleary, but again didn't test our keeper.

Unfortunately for you guys, there are a minority of your supporters who do believe they have the god given right to win every game 10-0 and anyone who snatches a point isn't playing fair game. As a result, as is the nature of such things, everyone gets tarred with the same brush, as I'm sure you'll appreciate.
