Agree. All rather tiresome and a tad boring.

You think he has a good sense of humour Ken?

What did he do? Send you a few jokes about Sarah Payne? the Soham murders? Hitler killing six million Jews?

You find humour in death don't you? A few jokes about that lot would probably having you rolling around laughing you b*llocks off wouldn't it?

I am not sick, it is seeing humour in every situation. I don’t find 3 men going into a bar funny, or a man going to the doctors funny. but if you use the situation and the English language to twist the situation you create an element of humour, you then create a joke. the same goes with more risky subjects. this is the simple concept of humour. i myself am one who happens to like uncomfortable humour and satire, this has no reflection on me or my personality it is just what i find funny. there are many people who find comedians like Roy chubby brown and Bernard manning funny (i personally find them awful) it doesn’t mean that these people are racist and sexist it just means they have a certain taste in comedy. this isn’t rocket science people, it is just common sense, someone dieing = not funny, creating a joke about it = can be funny.

just because you don’t find it funny doesn’t mean it isn’t. a prime example of this is a TV show called Brass Eye. an episode about the media hysteria surrounding paedophilia. lots of people complained about the show as they didn’t get it and found it offensive, even more people wrote in (myself included) to praise the show on how funny it was and what an important issue it raises. everyone’s tastes are different and that’s all there is.

or maybe at my grandads funeral (with who i was very close) and someone crashed into the hurse. this was amazingly funny and as i type this it is making me laugh out loud. this doenst mean i think any less of my grandfather it was just funny

now i know i said i wouldn’t post about this anymore, but someone started a new thread after the other was closed (something i strongly disagree with) and i felt i have to explain myself again.

and as far as the PM's ive been receiving, if you haven’t got the balls to post under your real name and just hide behind an alias i will just take the threats as idle children acting hard.

i think everyone has different concepts. if everyone were the same the world would be a very boring place. but lets talk about something much more important than anything........FOOTY! that is one thing we all have in common.

Sorry Ken, I cannot fathom how anybody could find jokes about child abuse (leading to murder) and mass genocide funny, no matter what way they were dressed up as so called humour.

It is sick and if you find this sort of thing funny then that is between your consience and yourself.

I do hope that you are not insinuating that I am behind these PM's you say you have been receiving? Anything I say here, I'll be happy to repeat to your face anytime. I told you my name and where I stand at Canvey (several people here know who I am) and am not in the habit of hiding behind a false name for anybody.

you had better talk to Charlie Chaplin, Mel brooks to name just a few famous comedians who have used the Nazis agenda for humour. also maybe contact Victor Frankl

psychiatrist Victor Frankl, a prisoner in the camps himself, noted in his book, Man's Search for Meaning, that humour was one of the things that helped people survive in the camps. Finding things to laugh at helped maintain a sense of meaning and purpose in life--even as prisoners saw others dying all around them.

"I would never have made it if I could not have laughed. Laughing lifted me momentarily . . . out of this horrible situation, just enough to make it livable . . . survivable." (Victor Frankl)

"Humour, more than anything else in the human makeup, affords an aloofness and an ability to rise above any situation, even if only for a few seconds." (Victor Frankl)

or maybe someone you may recognise

Bill Cosby once said, "If you can find humour in anything, you can survive it."

don’t judge a person on what they find funny. especially as you will never know what will one day tickle your fancy and you may find yourself laughing at the most inappropriate time at the most inappropriate things

and no it hadn’t even crossed my mind that the PMs were from you

The germans even have a word for finding humour in the misfortune of others but I cant remember it exactly, I'm sure someone else will come up with it, so it shows that it is a normal reaction to some.
