Hi all, Looking forward to Saturday's match, you've made a great start but we will look to stop that! I was told by the referee at our match on Saturday that you have great facilities, a new ground for us all to visit.

It will be the first time for Bury on this ground, but they have played in this borough - for four seasons, 1958 - 59 -60 -61, they were in the ECL when Romford (the real Romford) had their reserve team in the same league, the matches being played at Brooklands.

 

Their ground record of 3500 was set up against Enfield (the real Enfield) in the FA Cup.

 

And Bury Town's own ground has been used for Essex Senior League football.

 

And one of their players has played at Bridge Avenue before - in fact he scored two goals here. Over to you Max.

Of course - two goals for Soham. He has scored five goals in five games this season for Bury.

 

And the team who used the Bury ground in the ESL was Bury Academy - not very successfully as they failed to complete the season, folding after just eight matches.
