5 games into the season with a new manager and pretty much a new team, and we are seeing a team that looks exiting coming coming forward, reasonably solid in midfield and like a seive at the back.

This seems like a pretty good start - give the man a bit longer and I'm sure he'll manage to sort the defence out as well. In this division we look like a class team, bashley are top and 100%, and frankly on Saturday we were more than a match with 3 or 4 key players out.

Give them a run of 3 to 4 games playing the same team and formation I think they'll gel and startingproducing some really good stuff

its not 5 games but ten including pre season friendlies and they have still not gelled.defence looked solid in pre season and attack lacked target man, that position has been resolved with Matt but defence has wobbled. my best defence would be gardner, furmage, tills, dunlop, read. with cahill in front as a holding role with coyne, donlan supporting front two and a n other from edgerly, conner ben, omar, tanfield, dan, cooper. Casey would go straight back in when fit.

Cahill? Must be my liquorice allsort/marmite player.

Wouldn't get in my team, wouldn't make the subs bench.

U been sharing a roll-up with woody?

Read needs to convince me as well (actually he only needs to convince Simon Lane I guess, but u get where I'm coming from).

As for Coyne, needs to produce every week, be that head and shoulders above everyone else midfielder every game.

Lets not expect miracles.

same could be said about a few others that SL brought in, they always start and he seldom brings "off his players" only the remaining ones from last season. Ready has not shown the early form and Coyne has not been at his best, seems frustrated at times with himself. Give them a while longer but not to long.

Problem is that we have dropped down a division and no-one at the club believes we should be here. We also have a team that has, at times, shown it is capable of destroying anything in this league.

if we give it time we will get it together and should be in a promotion place, or at worst a play of position come the end of the season. It takes time to get a team playing well together and five or six competitive games is not really enough. We need to forget the arrogance and realise and accept our situation, then we can mvoe forward in a realistic manner. i believe we will get promoted but we will build up to it. i am sure Simon does have his favourites, but if we didn't have a managers favourite, who is generally of a below par standard, to moan at what we would we do. anyone remember Kevin Brown?!?!?!?!?!

One for you too Doris. Are you really a Doris by the way ?

You say Cahill wouldn't even make your sub's bench ? He's a 100% honest player with enough quality to play in a number of positions. And one of a few remaining from last year that showed that. It's lucky you don't have in picking who sits on a park bench let alone a football team.

That's two bite ups in a row

You are entitled to your opinion big fella.

It is honourable of him to stay. I wonder how many offers he had from higher league teams during the summer.

I'll say it again. He wouldn't get in my side and he wouldn't be in my squad. That's my opinion.

And no, not a Doris. and no, not hiding behind silly login's either. See Exiles flag or Liquorice Allsorts in programme.

Yes well I'm not sure what happened with most players over the Summer but know he turned down Northwood after trialing with Staines to stay with Windsor, as he wanted to win something with this Club.

You're entitled to your opinion also, so I would stick to posting your views on forums, by the looks of it you've only got negative things to say so imagine most people are fed up of seeing your moody posts. Maybe try getting a good woman to cheer you up.

Sorry you're not a doris, I was enjoying the flirting.

Why dont you two post your team selection and see how close you are in picking a side, bearing in mind not much has been seen of Furmage, Omar. Conner, Dan,Edgerley,Will and nothing of Gardner in starting line ups. 5 minutes as sub wont impress SL unless you manage to nick a goal or save a few as was pre seasons results.

moody? moody?

always concise, to the point and very sarcastic. never moody big man.

u got me mixed up with someone else..u been on the babycham on a friday afternoon early release, or sitting with Woody smoking those wild roll-ups?

woody - who's this fella with the attitude?

moody? way off the mark. remove the chip big man and chill out...have another drag with the woodster.

as for anonymous and team naming...I'd try bring in a brut of a centre midfielder, a brut of a centre half, try keep seedel and bring furmage in. I'm sure Simon Lane knows what he's doing though and has probably thought of this already.

ps. that's the last time I reply to an anonymous poster!

see everyone saturday.(unless my period gets heavier and these mood swings get worse).

CW, 'moody posts' when and where? Doris is one of the more sensible posters we have on this forum and often chips in with positive replies when we get an attack of the 'numpties'. He is stating his opinion which as you say we're all entitled to do so please respect the fact that opinions will differ.

Trialling with another club hardly proves loyalty does it, methinks you should perhaps have kept that bit quiet?

Fuzzy, very good post but who doesn't believe we're where we should be? I think anyone involved with the club at whatever level knows you end up where you deserve to be and last season's performances proved that I'm afraid. Like you said though, we now move on and hopefully up, 5 games is too short a time to draw any real conclusions and the playoffs certainly add an extra dimension for clubs that don't have the best of starts to a season.

Simon cetainly won't sit back and let things fester, if players aren't doing the job they were brought in to do then they wil be replaced. Three new signings this week have proved that, although in fairness two have been replacements for injured players. I said some time ago that you can look at the team after 10 games and be certain of where you stand and I stick by that although I, like others I'm sure, will already have some idea of who we think is good enough and who isn't!

Hopefully if things drop into place we will see what I hope to be the start of a good run of results tomorrow, let's see what happens.

Fair enough and you all obviously have your opinions and this is site is well too busy to bicker. Sorry Doris

He's a good friend of mine and I know how much winning and having a successful team means to him. It's understandable if any player wants to push himself and find a higher club. Especially when the last manager is sacked and no-one knows what is going on at a club. I'll leave that there as this is gonna cost me already.

Cahill, love ya son.

yet another keeper, why has Ian Gardner not been given a try, seems SL used him during pre season as the only keeper on books {hon secs words] praised his performances. early write up indicated he had earned his place as no 1 only to be over looked again and now again, what a way to treat a loyal player if hes not good enough for a run out why knock his confidence even further also his loyalty to the club by dropping him to third selection.
