yes but ultimatly this means dragging the club through the mud..which we must not do..we need to sort it our internally and when a new business plan and new direction is sorted then we could go for a re launch...Thats option one....which has always been there by the trust (just in case !)

safety net - why the trust was formed ....

how does it involve dragging the club through the mud though? Surely we can ask Deaner (I know, pigs might fly and all that) to relinquish the club to the trust, the trust resigns the club from the Ryman League to a feeder division lower down and relaunches itself as its own being. There's also no guarantee that Deaner won't pull the plug himself next season either, which will leave us in a deeper puddle of sh1t than we're in now with the added danger of having no back-up plan formulated now.

When the man supposedly the Chairman of our football club is described as having flown from the nest I think it is only right that questions are asked, even if they will not be answered to any degree of satisfaction. Does this mean now that Thames Valley Sports is Roy on his own or from a financial point of view have things got so murky that Bernard has had to disappear to protect his professional credentials?

Either way the change of ownership seems to be a complete sham.

Regarding the town hall meeting, I won't be attending for several reasons.

1 - As we are near the bottom of the agenda I doubt we'll even get to the Slough Town motion, particularly in light of the way that the ruling mob managed to close the last extraordinary council meeting pretty quickly.

2 - Not knowing what the motion is that Labour are making about STFC is a worry to me. I'm sure that it won't be anything negative but if we as a supporter base turn up in numbers to support something which I imagine most of us have little clue about it just make us look like a political pawn for the Labour group. I thought the whole point of the elections was to have a fresh start, show we are not prepared to be used by any group and would not jump in with anybody. To my mind it will make us look like Labour henchmen, which on an individual basis is fine if that is your political inclination, but as a group it is a bad thing.

3 - I've sat in Town Hall meetings on my own on occasions when something STFC related was said to come up and never actually did. I think I'll spend my Wednesday evening this week watching the England match instead. Well done to those who do go but just go there with an open mind

His response can easily be imagined, however he has (to at at least pretend) to do what the council instruct him to do.

There are currently 41 councillors, and I would expect the 18 Labour Councillors to vote in favour of the motion. If they are joined by the 2 Centre Party Councillors (Ex Independant Langley Residents), who put in the election leaflet that they support action to get the football club back to Slough, then it becomes quite close (20-21). There will be some abscences, so anything might happen. Several BILLD/Tory Councillors replied to the Trust letter in April saying they would pro actively work to support the clubs return, and if any of them do, the vote could be won. What Stokes would then do is anyone's guess.

All that said, my money is on the motion being rejected.

Are the voting results published ?

In other words, is it possible to have the vote result in writing (Hopefully proving a win for a club in Slough) for us to have a legal position post the result ?

And, before anybody says anything, I know that having it in writing doesn't mean anything to the council or to Stokes.

to reply to liam earlier post....

no more dipping into your pocket for Deaner...

a bit rich after he has dipped into his pocket for 8 season to keep slough town going - no other person has done this... !!!

Ok he could have been more thrifty on certain decisions ..BUT IT WAS HIS MONEY !! no one else's

He could do things differently ... but face the facts -wexham park was lost well before Deaner got involved...so he never lost the ground...as you implied and is sending us down a slippery sliding slope....this was well done in advance that anything he had done...

He has had no plan from the start for establishing the long-term furture of the club. Do you really think Mayfair would have objected to extending a lease to us to make a bit more money out of a site they presently make a pittance from? Of course they would in a heartbeat (after all, a little money coming in is better than no money) but Deaner went and screwed that up royally. He may have kept the club going, but the bleeding is terminal now and it's all down to him and we're still exactly where we were when he took over: Homeless, losing money left, right and centre with a p1ssed off council we're hoping to win over. Why can't you see that, or is your head still surgically implanted up the club's backside?

personal attack again......how dull..

if you were in anyway closer to the club and the wexham park episode...you would realise and see that this site is no good for further development or scope for a brighter future for STFC ...green belt land ...and under south bucks planing, who would not allow a new toliet on that site let alone a new stadium with attach offices or what ever...

This is old ground ..that you have fail to see if we had got an extenstion everyone would think our problem was over and all crawl back under their rocks...thinking a job was well done....

Have you ever spoken with Byron Thorne...!! he was not interested 1 % about us staying there either..in fact he could not care about the site, he wanted to flaten it and leave it for 50 years and see if and when the green belt issue is changed...HE DID OR DOES NOT CARE ABOUT STFC !

Liam if you want a history lesson on Wexham Park Stadium and South Bucks county council come and see me.....

The site was a wrong decision back in the early seventies even as a members club we had major major problems with south bucks CC .....That is one good reason we had to move away...

and that still stand today !!!

we need a new home ...what ever....

I never said it was a fool-proof option because it isn't and I think if you go back through previous posts on the subject I have always said that a move back to the Park would be a short-term solution at best until a better option was available. And the fact is that you have this completely blinkered vision of what the club is doing which is totally against what the vast majority of fans think - don't believe me, then why have our attendances fallen so drastically since we moved to Windsor? Why have we got no youth set-up? Why are offers of help to the club completely rebuffed? The club seem to know what they're doing, but they're p1ssing of the punters who come through the turnstiles by treating them with contempt and apathy. I've already made my decision never to darken Stag Meadow's doors again and I think others might follow suit unless something is being seem to be done by anyone in order to sort this mess out.

I stopped reading the forum because of 'conversations' like this and when I look at it again the same old arguments are going on.

Chris - the supporters DO have a right to expect commmunication from the club. How can Liam, or any of us, be closer to the goings on when we hear absolutely NOTHING through official channels?

Prior to the takeover by Thames Valley Sports, many promises were made about better communication channels and nothing has happened. If the one or two individuals running the club have too much to do then they should ask for help. It's not like it's never been offered by any number of people. If they want people to carry some of the burden and act in a semi-official capacity undertaking certain roles for the club (Communications Officer, Advertising, Sponsorship etc.) then there are people out there who would step forward and help. Furthermore, I know these people HAVE offered help, are qualified to do them and would do them unpaid.

These current discussions with the Council are pointless. Sorry, I know how much work you put in and you know I admire you for that. However, if the CLUB are not willing to at least try and fight their own battles by refuting repeated allegations and issuing official statements about what they want, then supporters, either individually or collectively as the Trust, will not get past first base with the Council.

You know the reasons I am choosing not to attend matches (none of which has to do with on pitch matters). What I heard on Saturday and what I'm now witnessing on here, regrettably, doesn't make me want to hurry back. I wish you the best of luck.

Ian.

Fair points again...Ian ...and I understand what you and liam are getting to...but I am sorry nothing is easy in life and the complications are beyond ROY the club.

Communication is allways the name of the game...Slough Townb FC is no different..To be fair MD was prepared to get involved with the Britwell re generation project - The allotment project - The land next to the school project...only to have the door put in his face...no wonder he may well have had enough..but he is hopful the labour party will re gain control and move forward...these keep him paying the bills I surpose...and why I still support my Club....

If others think that being a Chelsea supporter is any different please tell...do they have any say in what happens at Stamford bridge..does the owner ask the supporters what they think ? NO...way....

Ok lets make a bid for the club.... anyone got a pocket big enough ??? let me know....and people prepared to put a business case into a project the trust can help with...? and we will need people prepared to have a go....

open to these suggestions anytime....

Two out of three times it was Labour who put that door in his face. Why should it be any different if they get into power again? Why is Deaner prepared to work with people who failed miserably to help us in the first six years of his involvement with the club?

It would be nice to think that Rob Anderson and co will be able to help should they get back control of the town hall. I can't help but think there will be more pressing issues for them to attend to rather than think of the football club if that is the case.

They may not get a say, which is not what Ian was asking at all. I wasn't asking for say in how the club was run either. What we want is a little communication and accountability from the incompetents in charge and a solid plan of where the club's future lies. They haven't provided any of this in eight years, so I'll be damned if I'm going to meet them halfway if they can't even show a tiniest glimmer of being interested back.
