Eastside Urchin
steve irwin was actually one of the greatest conservationists of his time, sure some of his methods were a little bit over the top but he masterminded australia zoo as well as masterminding countless other projects for all different species of creatures ranging from snakes to birds, crocs and leemas, the fact he was seen in this country as some daft aussie took away from the years of work he has done for conservation,do you really think he jumped on a croc for a laugh, course he didn't,it was for the most time to help the croc or their species RIP Mr irwin

Guest
Oh! Come on posters, get real this is a football forum. Ken is not getting off on the fact a man has died and leaves behind family. He is merely indulging in ironic humour, most people do. I am not saying he is right, I am not saying is tasteful but he is not deserving of such condemnation. This type of humour is traditional and recognised by phsychologists as "normal". I bet Steve would have smiled at the irony in it himself. If you do not like it do not respond and he will loose his audience, I will bet at least every office and factory will have at least one sick joke by the morning. I do not know Ken, but from reading his posts can tell you he is not a monster!! "Mr and Mrs Mitchell of Brockley Green, Fairstead Estate, King's Lynn, were watching their favourite TV comedy, The Goodies. During a scene about a new type of self-defence called `Ecky Thump', Mr Mitchell was seized by uncontrolled laughter. After half an hour of unrestrained mirth, he suffered a heart attack and died. His wife, Nessie, wrote to The Goodies thanking them for making her husband's last moments so happy". I would not be surprised if Mrs Irwin does not start a fund to save the stingray!!! and1inthetree
indeed. nothing like a bit of moral outrage is there? i'll bet these people responded the same to diana or queen mum jokes. i personally don't take pleasure in the man dying so young and leaving his children fatherless, but i'm sure the kids will not be left destitute and will probably as they get older, appreciate their dad would have probably wanted to go whilst winding up some animal or other. esu i appreciate all he has done for conservation, but do you really think that he wouldn't antagonise an animal to make 'great tv'? Eastside Urchin
no i don't tree, most of the shows i have seen are him catching crocs so he can tag them, yes he went over the top and sometimes some of the things he did were a bit stupid but i think people should mourn his death rather than slate him because in my view he helped raise publicity about the creatures and the dangers of some of them

Spursman
Never thought the day would come when I found myself agreeing with Hornchurch fans 100% but there you go... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> Whilst I fully understand that ironic humour is something that some people enjoy and find amusing, what people like Ken should understand is that a lot of others find it offensive and that is fact. I do not know Ken and I am sure he is not "a monster" but surely there is a time and place for everything and a Canvey fans forum is not the place for this sort of sh*t (something I am surprised has not been picked up by the moderators) and whilst if you wish to make these remarks and send these sort of pictures via e mail to your likeminded mates that is your perogative, please don't inflict this garbage (which has no rellevance to a site such as this whatsoever) onto people who do not find it funny in the least. As far as the music is concerned, let's just agree to disagree and leave it at that eh? You have your views and I have mine and whatever we say to each other is not going to change our views or thoughts on either so it is pointless to continue. I hope you are soon on the mend and able to watch Canvey again Ken and I will not now be making any further comment on any of the matters raised. End of.
