I was covering a game there for a paper a few years back when they beat Boreham Wood in the FA Cup. Had a Jap Staam look-alike playing. Deseveved to win too, despite Wood being top of Ryman one at the time..

Ha Ha, Jaap Stam look a like was the legendary Judgo! He's not there anymore and most of that side have moved on now. Not going to give you too many pointers as I will be rooting for them!

Club house was top notch and a very pleasant female secretary at the time too. But I presume the rest of the ground cannot of altered much in six years. Remember having to walk across grass to get to the turnstile..Must be fun in winter..not!

Cannot see why..cannot remember much on the housing front around there then...Mind you I have trouble remembering last night...let alone six years ago!

Sadly there are some rather large houses, through the trees behind the goal who object to everything as well as the land being subject to various covenants laid out by the Croft family who left the land to the local 3 parishes (Say no more) for the various sports clubs

Ah right..the bane of many a minor club over the course of time..Screwed up Stambridge years ago as it is church land and him up stairs - well his earthly troops - said it was immoral for them to charge for matches, so lost their senior status.

Perhaps they should have charged for the programme only? That is how they got around the Sunday laws during the three-day week in '74.
