Hi Helski.

These 'positives'. Did we take them [from the]* first half or [from the]* second half, or [from]* both halves?

I know nothing about football but in these discussions, which I find thoroughly entertaining by the way, I often wonder whether there are, in fact, any 'negatives'. Do we take them, too? Or do we ignore them? Or do we take them first, and then ignore them? Or do they actually exist?

Steve Castle was always 'taking the positives' as I recall. Usually [from the] second half. Or it might have been [from the] first half.

I intended to ask him whst it meant in the clubhouse after a game but the moment never really presented itself.

Very good guys! Did you go AFF? I know Electric didnt so not really sure he can comment as such. I thought we played well and showed what we can do!

As you probably know, Helski, I was not at Oxford.

However, you appear to have mis-understood my comment which was not whether or not positives could be taken from the game itself. I wasn't there so I couldn't say whether positives or negatives could be taken [in the] first half or [in the] second half, or indeed, [in] both halves.

Rather, my comment was made regarding the use of the comment that positives could be taken. It was more a "use of language" observation, rather than a "football" comment.

I'm glad to hear that you don't do cliches, Helski. I am aware that you are not a chap.
