I heard that this new exciting new player was the reason that the Boxing day fixture was postponed, a payoff to the ref to say the pitch wasn't fit to play on, probably not true though!

 

Also having seen Gazza a few times in recent months, please dont picture him scoring a wonder goal like against Scotland. Looks scared when on the ball and cant wait to simple pass it away again. Ian Wright would be nice!

 

I reckon Ruddock having seen him at the ground not so long ago.

But in a way the Transfer Window does apply to our league... if we are signing a player from a Div 1/2/3 team! We can buy players from clubs in our league or equivilant anytime during the season. However if we wanted to sign someone from... Gillingham for example, we would have to wait for the Transfer Window to open before we can get him!

 

If he's not coming till the new year, when the Transfer Window opens, he's obviously currently at a Football League club!!

I've just read an article on the Evening Echo website and Jeff claims that the first player coming will be and overseas international. Is this the Finnish player, that I was hinted about last Saturday? The 'well respected football league player' we know about will be coming shortly afterwards with maybe another new face after that.

If any of these transfers are affected by the Transfer Window then midnight tonight those players are ours!!!

Justin Edinburgh announced his retirement from playing football about a week into our friendlies, so I doubt it would be him. I don't think it would be anyone we've seen down the Club, not even Ruddock.

I would like to see Peter Smith back either playing or for cover for Wardy. He would snuff out a lot of opposition attacks and also contributes well to starting attacking moves. Remember that game at Gravesend. He played a lovely ball out to Duffy who then ran down the left and cut in, passed slightly back to Gregory who smashed the ball in.

Following Man Utds B'Team having a great run of games unbeaten Rio Ferdinand is going to have to battle hard to get his place back. I wonder if he fancies a drop in wages and a Bosman style move to Canvey ? Im sure Jeff could find him a big house on the Kings Park Estate ? those chalets look nice ....
