Think you guys need to come back to reality before you get too dissappointed. One game does not make a season - I wasn't there yesterday (but listened to the great commentary from "Wellsie"), but have read enough on the CCFC and Gate forums to appreciate that you knocked the living daylights out of us YESTERDAY. However, I'm sure you must realise that the Gate MAY not play that well every week, and (hopefully) the Clarets MAY not play that bad every week.

Take a fresh look at the situation after a dozen or so more games before jumping to conclusions.

Im of the opinion that theres a long way to go yet BC. But we are enjoying the good performances after a couple of very lean years. However, if we start believing our own hype it will be a bad thing and performances would drop. I'm confident from hearing Proths interview that the players know they are happy with the way things are going but know there's a long way still to go.

Correct on that Claret. In truth not many of us,I think, are really getting carried away with it all. Yesterdays performance was nigh on perfect & I doubt it will be repeated too often. Hopeful that it does but as you say not easy to do on a regular basis. We have the team to do that of course but its a long season,we havent gone that far through it yet & there are many more harder games to come.I think people are just enjoying the moment not only of being on top but more importantly in the way it was achieved.

We are under no illusions about the task ahead. Who knows we could drop points on Tuesday & we will have to come back down to earth then wont we? No,I'm sure the large majority of our fans dont assume anything. They & I are just enjoying yesterdays demolition job.Well not quite, but it was a SUPERB effort by ALL the players yesterday.

Your side werent THAT bad they were just MADE to look worse.Maybe they DID play their normal game.Obviously the conditions didnt suit them as it did our guys.Thats something I shall look at with your fixtures in the future.

Will you succumb again in similar conditions? Probably not.

We are not home yet by a long way & there will be ups & downs all the way too but for now we are just enjoying watching a real decent set of players playing in front of us & who are giving us their all.

There'll be problems along the way & we shall ask questions along that road again but for now we are all PROUD of our players, every single one of them. Its the way we got to the top rather than actually being at the top which has elated us more I think.

I along with others are staying reasonably level headed and i know that it is not going to be easy and that there are going to be times when it doesn't look good for us. All teams challening for the title will go through this.
