it was a brilliant result.
Lato - Yes I agree, well done, I give credit where credit's due. The following is from the Enfield Town Website acknowledging defeat gracefully, they say there will be some photos later if you want to check:
So we lost, and no doubt the inquest will begin. So why did we lose? Well, there was the length of the grass, the overall state of the pitch, the conduct of the officials, the state of the US dollar in Kazakhstan… OK, it's a fair cop, Ruislip Manor beat us because their game plan worked. They hit us on the break a few times and scored twice in doing so. They certainly didn't play the best football but playing pretty keep ball in midfield doesn't put the ball in the back of the net. Our goal came from Paul Campbell and just showed what we could have done had we shot on target more often and, yes, we could have done without losing Adam Gant early on to an injury but you could spend all evening analysing this game without changing the final score. Good luck to Ruislip Manor. They deserved to win on the day and we wish them well in the next round. Shayne Chandler's after match comment was rather telling though: "Why couldn't you have played like that against Leverstock Green?" We've known for a while that some teams lift their game when they play us. We really shouldn't let it affect our play though!

Potters Bar Town - What was your game like today, were you disappointed not to go through although you should still oblige in the replay. Was the crowd of 94 above or below your expectations.

Very, very windy. Went two up with the wind in our favour in the first half, conceded two against the wind in the second half.

Third time in eight days that we have been in front and controlling a game comfortably, only to let it slip with defensive errors and have to settle for a draw.

I would still make us slight favoruites for the replay although we have to cut out the defensive sloppiness.

Crowd was a tad disappointing but not far short of what we would have expected. Replay crowd might be a bit bigger, especially with Enfield Town not playing. A few of their supporters may turn up.

Photos are now up on the Enfield Town website..and very good they are too. In one if you look carefully you can see Spider, MB100 and myself in he background looking surprisingly disinterested as we nearly go 3-0 up!

Do we know how Hendon got on today at home to Lewes and Hayes at Billericay Town, the Haverhill result must surely be the shock of the round although that and Oxhey Jets are the only results I know so far.

Ah but Spider Rhodes didn't say it was "result of the round" he said it was "shock of the round"

Should be "Ah but Spider, Rhodes didn't ....."

Isn't it funny how these well supported "big" clubs always have lower crowds when it's a shared gate?

Spider Rhodes is a composite non -league watching character armed to the teeth with digital cameras ...just don't try to imagine him. Either that or I missed a vital comma out of the post!

Lato - Thanks for the link to the results above. Actually I'm not an anorak if that's what you're referring to and don't attend games seven days a week like your Potters Bar Town's of this World. I have cameras with me to take photos for the Kentish Town programme and Website, I did the same at Haringey but unfortunately my efforts weren't appreciated there although I gather surprisingly my pics are still hanging up in the 'boardroom' at Coles Park.

No doubt you haven't yet read my comments posted almost 90 minutes before you wrote the above. You have an unerring knack of not bothering to read all the new posts before posting comments on here.

Cheers, NF. Still can't believe we didn't get at least a replay. A defender's attempted clearance in the last minute missed his own post by about two inches. Still, the FA Cup is about the rub of the green and we are happy that we gave a good account of ourselves at the end of a tremendous cup run.
Potters Bar Town - I assume this is what you were referring to as I missed it, it's hardly a blow by blow account of arguably the biggest game in your Club's history.

Potters Bar Town - Sorry, strike out arguably from the above statement, this is from the Barnet and Potters Bar Times:

'Officials at Potters Bar Town are looking forward to the biggest game in the club's history as the side prepares to take on Conference club Woking on Saturday in the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup. A giant-killing performance from The Scholars would see them launched into the unchartered territory of the FA Cup first round proper, with the possibility of drawing a Football League side. But they go into the clash without influential captain Ryan Harris, who is suspended after receiving five yellow cards so far this season. The final qualifying round is the furthest Potters Bar has been in the world's most famous club competition, and the tie came thanks to an excellent 2-1 away win at Ryman Premier side Margate a fortnight ago. Manager Andy Leese said: "Losing Ryan is a major blow, but we have a decent sized squad, and the players who come in will have to step up to the mark.
"We have to think we have a chance with every game we go into, but we have to be realistic. Woking are a full-time outfit and fitness will count at some stage, probably in the last 20 minutes. "It would be phenomenal to get into the first round proper. The club have worked so hard for this, and we will not let it go easily."
Woking will provide a substantial challenge for The Scholars. The Cards are one of the biggest sides in non-league football, and currently lie in the top half of the Conference, with seven wins from their 17 league games. They have, however, lost their last two league games, against Stafford and Gravesend. Their top scorer, Craig McAllister, has eight goals so far, while Iraqi goalkeeper Shwan Jalal, is a former Tottenham trainee. Potters Bar chairman Peter Waller is also looking forward to the game. He said: "I have waited 30 years for something like this. We deserve to play there and hopefully will give a good account of ourselves. These matches do generate quite a bit of money, which is helpful for a club like ours. "Drawing Woking is nearly as good as anyone we might get if we got through to the next round. This is our cup final."
