Recommended Posts

"Damian Batt, a 21-year old Hertfordshire-born player, has signed for St Albans City in time to be included in the Saints squad to face Oxford United at the Kassam Stadium on Friday, 1 September. Predominantly a right-sided player he has played in both full-back positions as well as in midfield.

Born in Hoddesdon on 16 September 1984, he spent three years with Norwich City before having trials during 2004 with Wycombe Wanderers, Cheltenham Town and Bournemouth.

Began the 2004-05 season in the Conference South with Redbridge but left after an opening day 3-0 home defeat to Basingstoke Town to join Barnet in the Nationwide Conference. Made his debut for the Bees on 28 September 2004 during a 3-1 LDV Trophy victory over Stevenage Borough at Underhill. His League debut came four days later during a 2-2 home draw with Woking.

With Barnet in the Football League during 2005-06 he made his League Two debut on 27 August last year during a 1-0 home defeat to Grimsby Town. Made a total of 22 (12 starts, 10 sub) league appearances during the 2005-06 season and five cup appearances although his progress was hindered by injury.

Damian scored one goal for Barnet, that came during a 7-1 Nationwide Conference win over Farnborough Town on 19 March 2005 - a match in which former Saint Ben Strevens was also on target.

Damian's full name is Damian Alexander Nathaniel Batt; he stands at 5'10" and will be given squad number 23.

We welcome Damian to Clarence Park and wish him a long, happy and successful time with the Saints."
