Conference Division Two

Another P.S. to Mr. Holden. Or rather a P.P.S. to him.

Another Moderator, Simon from Ricay has posted a message on his site to the effect that he believes the F.A. are likely to direct that a new structure should begin the season after next for reasons which are incomprehensible to me. He cites the example of the split into Ryman 1, North and South when the chaps from Soho Square did exactly that.

Well, hold on a minute.

With all due respect to you Moderator people, the current situation is very different. If anyone resigns from the Ryman Premier, then applies to Conference 1N/S, then is accepted by Moulesy, then is directed by that nice David Davies to wait until 2004/5, then is refused re-entry by the Ryman for 2003/4. then.........well what then?

Join a minor League for next season? One could gain promotion from the Essex Senior League [if you are from Essex, of course][unless you are from Enfield, of course] into Conference 1 thus by-passing that lot in between.

Shurely not?

Do you want to know what I think? I don't know anything about football, but I think that there should be an Executive/Administrative Committee, or Board elected to sort out things like this. They could take responsibility for fixtures, player registration, disciplinary matters, league and cup competitions, sponsorships and the future of football etc. Why didn't anybody else think of that?

Aren't the FA meeting on the 29th January to discuss/ratify this? That gives Ryman clubs two days to resign if it gets the nod. Fortunately it's midweek but I can see all sorts of [****!!****]-ups happening with missing letters, faxes etc.

It's all just a bit too much of a rush for anything to happen next season, I can't see the FA giving this the go-ahead until 2004-5 at the earliest.
