Have we, and by 'we' I mean you and that lap-dog Webbo any idea of this chap's 'field-name', Rob?

I always enjoy the Official press releases which refer to the players by the names what they are called by their team-mates on the pitch, my all-time favourite example referred to Matt 'Matty' Hann signing and committing his future to the Saints following the securing of his signature on a contract at the start of this season. In some cases it's pretty obvious that Paul Bastock would be known as 'Bazza', Lee Clarke as 'Clarkie' and Josh Sozzo as 'Sozzo', presumably, as the nickname requires the addition of 'o', 'a' or 'y' to one of their proper names, or an abbreviation of one. [i sometimes feel that Mel Batty might have earned more England caps had he had names that could be readily adapted in this fashion].

Anyway, what about t'new lad? Magno? Oche/Okky? Not everyone will have seen that photograph so 'Frank' as in Frankenstein might be a little obscure despite it's appeal to me otherwise.

Welcome to the club from me, whatever he is to be called.

No that's a paddy drink

Given that Shamrock Rovers are one of the clubs you support, (along with Man Utd who are all paddies too!) I am surprised you would object??

Just because i support teams in other countries doesn't mean i have to like an Irish drink (anyway i hate cider it would have to be Harp).

Is John O'shea & Liam Miller the whole United team then !

As a personal friend of Josh Sozzo i'd just thought i'd help you out with his nickname, it's just Soz. Although some Aylesbury United fans have some more colorful ones for him <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Great stuff, fan 2878! Just Soz. Thanks for that. It's always good to get an 'insiders' view of this kind of thing. It's a shame in some ways that the matchday programme no longer includes the "Interview with A Player". I have a scrapbook at home with details of the favourite food, holiday destination, and music on the car CD of the entire 2003/04 and 04/05 squads which I browse through from time to time. Happy days, huh?

And how is t'lad enjoying life in the Conference Nationale? It's early days and it's yet to settle but on Monday's performance, I guess he would appreciate a little more service on the ground from the midfield, with the greatest possible respect to 'Matty', Wildey'?, Clarkie and err.. Tommo.

The first League goal will help, no doubt. It'll come soon enough.

He's really enjoying it, slightly frustrated at the lack of playing time but he realises that he has to be patient. Like you say his first goal will come soon enough and once it does, he'd be one to put your money on for the saints top goal scorer.

Hopefully they will keep the same line up tonight as it was Monday as myself and quite a few of Soz's mates are driving up to Oxford tonight. Should be quite interesting as Oxford centre Chris Willmott is an old school friend of ours and it would make the game slightly more interesting for us!

Chris Wilmott? Never heard of him, fan2878. You don't mean Richard Wilmott? Quality 'keeper and a top bloke.

Never fear, f2878. 'Just Soz' and t'lads will be studying the videos and examining the dossiers prepared by Colin and Nick in the Residents Lounge of the Oxford Ritz as we speak, having recovered from the massage, sauna and steam bath after their lunch of lightly grilled chicken breast and pasta.

Oxford? A walk in the park.

[And it's City, by the way.]
