You had Mr Conway reffing yesterday Rhodes. Always been a top guy for us, though prone to the odd bizarre decision but usually evens them out. Nice guy off the field though, one ref you can actually chat to in the bar and ask about decisions.

Always have a good bit of banter with Steve. Not in my top half dozen refs but there are a lot worse than him around and he's a nice bloke.

 

Only major problem I ever had with him was when he called off our League game at Hoddesdon three years ago. There was no problem with the decision itself, it was just that he had been sitting in the bar since about 1:30pm but didn't inspect the pitch and call the game off until about 2:40pm. It wasted a lot of time for a lot of people.

 

He was also in charge of the Kentish Town v Sun Postal Sports match I saw at Haringey on 29 March 2005 which was abandoned after 73 minutes with Kentish Town 3-1 ahead. Had the game finished, it would have been the only time I've ever seen them win a game. They lost the re-match 3-1, I believe.

 

He's an experienced referee and, if he was in charge yesterday, then it can be safely assumed that most, if not all, of the yellow and red cards must have been justified.

To try and make this post SSML related then our match against Ipswich saw the linesman rule out a perfectly good goal with a technical error. Yes it was a fantastic result for The 61 FC, though to be fair apart from the Risborough result we have done very well over the past couple of months, still beating a team two divisions above you is still some result.

 

Thanks for the comment on Sol Davis, not only is he a good player but he has a superb attitude and really drives the team on, having ability is one thing but having the will to win is another and Sol possesses both attributes.

 

What going on with your Marlon King?, as much as I hate to say it he was quality against us in both games last season.

King is out for the season. He had an exploratory op on his knee yesterday to clean out what they thought was a bit of torn cartledge, but which turned out to be a piece of bone flaked away from his femur. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Now that sounds painful!! Without wishing to state the obvious he will be a big loss for you, I guess it ends the rumours of him lumping your manager though.

 

Do you think you will be able to go out and replace him in January (and no you can't have Carlos <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> )
