Many people were unhappy with the way we played last season (one of them wears my shoes) but not all of us scrutinised the teams performances in the same way you did.

Harry, stop lending your shoes out, its not healthy and that bloke who wears them is a complete t*ss*r.

Its nice to see people are happier with the performances but results have gone pretty much as expected so far. We may have played well against Aldershot and York but we didn't get any points, the three matches we have won are good but not really surprising.
As always three wins means the manager is a genius and three losses mean he is a pratt, when we win it is because we are brilliant and when we lose it is because we are rubbish, the opposition, or lack thereof, have nothing whatsoever to do with our results.
We have made a good start but we are still one of the smaller teams in a tough league. I hope everyone is still as happy after we have played Halifax, Grays, Exeter and Rushden...by then we should have a better idea of what sort of season we are going to have.

Summaries of the way the season is going really don't get any better than this.

I to agree with JC comments on Slarti's post.

The points that we have won to date are against sides that we expected to get points from and we have to be pleased with the 10 points that we have to date.

the good news is that we are still finding the net, 12 goals from 6 games is healthy, whoever your playing, the next 4 games are going to be very interesting and if we get 6 poits from them, I, for one, will be over the moon.

There is nothing wrong with arguement/debate/disagreement between fans on here, it happens at every football club in the country.

How boring it would be if we were all sycophantically fawning over everthing Fleet.

We are all aware that although we have moved on from last year, we still have room to improve, both on and off the pitch.

We all want pretty much the same thing, it's just that our priorites vary, and we all have our own way of wanting things done.

We all have different points of view and perspectives on things; it remains a fun thing to do so long as cheap insults are avoided such as pointing out spelling and grammar errors, or berating someone just because you disagree with them.

An example is the responses to my original posting, some (Harry & Bernard) didn't like it, others such as Kev did, and some were couldn't make up their mind (Hirsty).

At the end of the day, like it or lump it. I will stick to my original sentiment and repeat my thanks to LD and AK for significantly changing to a more attacking, fluent, passing and attractive style of play.

I will continue with this sentiment, whether we win or lose until we resort to route 1 kick and rush hoof it up the pitch like we did almost every game last year.

How was the sentiment-ometer after Saturdays second half performance then C.G.?

I reckon the 3:5:2 formation was dictated by injuries rather than by Liam having an attacking football epiphany so don't be surprised if we revert to 4:4:2 as soon as the crazy frog is fit.
Its the players that make a game entertaining whatever formation you play, if they play well and to feet it will be worth watching however they line up and if they hoof it however many play in midfield they won't get a touch.

What is " some were couldn't make up their mind (Hirsty)" supposed to mean ? My mind is firmly made up on all matters ! but especially on the subject of miserable old moaning b'stards !

To be fair, while ineffective long balls in the wind were used a little too often at Southport, there were quite a lot of attempts to pass the ball around too. The main problem was the number of wild shots over the bar from outside the box after reasonable build-up play.

Either you are suffering from schizophrenia, or are a crawly bumlicker, or someone who has seen the light & are enjoying that portion of humble pie. It's nice to see that you are giving the management & board the credit they deserve !!!

As I said, Hirsty, you have neither critcised my posting or fully agreed

God preserve us !

Which of the millions of posts are you referring to ? One assumes your "open" letter ? ( ha !)

When I regain the will to live, I will have another look & give you my opinion, if it means so much to you. I always thought that you couldn't give a sh*t about my responses ? Indeed, you used to think I was just having a go at you for the sake of it ?

Not sure when I will regain the will to live as most of your ramblings leave me semi-concious....ooops......zzzzzzzzzzzzzz...........................

Ha....there goes another rib !!

I am not too sure what I am or am not supposed to be agreeing with here, so, to avoid any confusion, I make the following statement in response to you CG as you were obviously upset with me for some reason ( not that I could give a sh*t !). The following statement is issued after taking in all the facts and all the other cr*p, and also after consultation with my legal team :-

a) I wasn't one of the people calling for Daish's head last year. Although the fayre served up, particularly towards the end of last season, was not up to the required standard, I did not feel that blind slagging off of all concerned was warranted, or indeed served any purpose whatsoever !

B) This season's team is indeed Liam's team, and he will ( metaphorically speaking ) live or die by his choices, as all managers do. Personally, I very much hope he lives.

c) I am very pleased with what I have seen so far this season, it looks good considering the budgetary constraints that the club have to operate under.

d) If I am honest, I couldn't really see the point of your "open letter", but, as always, respect your right to voice your thoughts in a democratic society blessed with ( nearly !) the right of free speech ( enjoy it while you can everyone ).

So, in conclusion & to sum up.........

.....you ought to get out more mate !!!

Cheers,

Has Magners cider reached you yet ? It's everywhere here, although I am not a fan, & refuse to conform & drink it. Their Marketing Manager deserves a knighthood though ! All summer I have seen people drinking it ( in a glass, with ice .....errrghhhh !!) at prices ranging between £2.95 & £4.30 a pint ( out of my range !)...people that I have never seen touch cider before !! ( and you Wapman poseur !!).

You can't teach an old apple new tricks !!

If Mr Bulmer reads this, I am available to receive free samples of Strongbow at any time !

What are the popular drinks your side of the pond ? Bud ?

Cheers,
