Oh Canv, that warms the cockles of my heart, and to think, I thought it would all go downhill from there and, you know what? It did.

 

But just look at that 104 goals only letting a mere 34 goals, the best attack and defence in the league and top. Playing a big game against Marlow, god they were great games and Aylesbury, then there was the foggy day at the Park, nostagalia's not what it used to be!

 

It's a little chrimbo present, a far distant memory from the awful game that Chesham now play, makes one-dimensional look good..

I still can't believe we lost to Staines that season, and lost to Aylesbury despite going 2-1 up in the last minute. And we were robbed at Chesham. 2-2 with 10 men for most of the match after a Bob Dowie special. Still thought we should have won that game.

 

It could have been so different! <img src="/forums/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" />

 

Admittedly there are probably the same sort of stories from Chesham.

We was robbed at yours too, that Shot from Adebowale that hit the post from 30 yards out, over 3000 people for that one, even the Shots don't get that.

 

Anyway, not meaning to be rude, but that season we really did have the best team, I know that's not the thing to say on Saints site but we were so good, beating Sutton 7-2, Bognor 6-1, Borehamwood 9-1, Stevenage 7-3, what a season...

The problem is that the whole feeder league set up is unfair, there's no fluency to it, the whole league seems to have stagnated. Being totally honest I think the conference like it that way, it makes things more secure for them...

 

You're also seeing more conference clubs go pro whilst some div 3 teams are going part time with their costs. Someone has to take a hold of the feeder system, because in the end it will just collapse. There's something to cheer us up for Chrimbo!!
