Your choice Paul to give him outstanding marks. No problem with that.I am an enormous fan of Mc Kimms & normally he would get nigh on full marks for his efforts from me.But I just thought he wasnt involved as much as he usually is & maybe that was because he had just come back from a short illness,I dont know, but I didnt think he was as prominent as some players out there on Saturday as much as he has been in previous games.He certainly got into position to get the penalty thats for sure. No doubt he will shine again this week having had that blow out.I agree,in normal circumstances he stands out with all the rest but just because I like the guy,like his workrate & skills on nearly every other occasion I am only going to give it as I see it.He still did well,dont get me wrong,just didnt shine for me thats all on this occasion. 5-1 away from home didnt tell the true story but really they ALL did well as a unit.(obviously)

Incidentally Paul,I do watch players closely,very closely,when they are both on & off the ball.

Tricky sometimes but I manage it.If I didnt I shouldnt be commenting on their play at all.

Just have to agree to disagree on this one but in truth theres not really THAT much difference in our opinions of him from Saturday I can assure you.

Spot on EBP. I don't like giving marks because when players give their all as I believe they did on Monday I think it is a bit disrespectful and can knock confidence which it is just not necessary. We are after all winning so I wouldnt like to write anything on here at the moment that might offend a player. To be totally honest if I saw I had been given a mark of 5 or 6 after playing in a performance where we won 5-1 I wouldnt be too pleased. I'm against player ratings quite simply. No offence to you Cookie. We all have our opinions and all are just as valued. Thought McKimm was very good. Had to get that off my chest.

If he can achive this its a win for sure and also keeping Minton out of the game that others have suggested. (up the gate).

Marks are my bit of fun only. Its been done by others but they are just a pointer to what I thought.The fact that some dont agree with them is the reason why they are not to some peoples likings.I did say in my original post that they were my own personal opinions & that others would think differently. No need to take them seriously & I doubt the players do either.They know they had a great result but they will also know there is still improvement to come. Besides I thought I was quite complimentary to all players bar one & he got m.o.t.match elsewhere so everyone should be happy anyway. Still,hand smacked,comments taken on board.

And I thought I was the only supersticious one!

No more marks then.I abide by the majority.

No offence taken GW. Just so long as we have OFFENCE on Saturday.If we do then I think,despite my "marks" we will do well.Take it to them & keep them on the back foot.Less dangerous then.

Sit back & invite them onto us & we may have problems.

Finally I didnt say McKimm had a BAD game did I? He just wasnt as effective as he had been previously i.m.o. & that I put down to being out for one match. He is normally a terrific player & he is one of the first names I look for hoping for inclusion on the teamsheet.To me he WILL be better after this run out.Just to please all I will amend my mark to 7 then.

 

Come on,we won 5-1,great, but it could have been a lot closer than that, had it not been for heroics by Scott in goal & some poor finishing by their forwards.If we are to hold our own with the bigger boys & go onto fulfil our objectives we mustnt forget those facts & we must put them right.
