Scott saved us on many occasions indeed. Defence needs sorting out or we are in trouble when the "big boys" come down. 8-6 would have been a fair reflection of the game. Still, a cracking result nevertheless. Yes,I think we DID out number their fans & yes, the choir were magnificent all the way through. Class told in the end against a moderate Folkestone outfit. The finishing by our lads was magnificent, first class. Scott m.o.t match for me with Pinnock a close second. Never stopped running & layed off ball well & held up the ball brilliantly. Hocktons goals were gems & a good performance but believe me the score dosent do a moderate Folkestone outfit justice. But a win it was & am grateful for that no matter how it comes. Just wondering now that we are to entertain the "big boys".Hopefully defence will be sorted out & if it is I can tell you we will then have one hell of a team out there.

Scott Chalmers-Stevens : 9

Brilliant saves (but did flap twice which was unusual for him & had a couple of disastrous kick outs)deduct 1 point but kept us in with the chance to bury them therefore he stands out tops for me.Some of his saves were superb to say the least.

Reflex actions also unbelievably good.

Greg Oates : 7

Usual reliable self. Not as much in it as other games but efficient enough. Does need to get to those headers more. His weak point that I feel.

James Donovan : 5

Sorry, but our weak position.Mostly out of position, misses numerous one on one headed balls & is woefully short of pace. Needs to lose some weight & get pace into his game. Did well sometimes but overall not inspiring I thought.

Trotty : 7

Works tirelessly. He didnt think he had a great game but I thought he worked his socks off at the back.Solid in most everything he did.

Justin Skinner : 7

A good all round performance. Stands up to a pacey approach & wins more than he loses in the tackle.A perfect example of how NOT to retreat when faced with oncoming forward.Shame he gets involved sometimes, has to keep his cool. 1 point deduction for that I'm afraid.

Paull Abbot : 7

A much better game than Saturday. Showed up well today & made good contributions.

Steve McKimm : 6

Probably in need of the game after being out sick last game.Generally did well & made the penalty by running with the ball well. He will have a better one next time out.

Lee Protheroe : 7

Always giving his all.Not a major influence today but nevertheless a good asset to have in the side.Never stops running & trying as he did again today.

Jimmy Jackson : 7

On a good run of form at the moment. Controlled the left hand side of things & linked up well with James & Danny.

James Pinnock : 9

Also doing well of late.Runs & runs & runs, flick offs great, holding the ball up magnificently,& lays off the ball very well. A superb goal too.Well deserved.Great control on the ball.

Danny Hockton : 9

Great great strikes, super,& ran more today & produced some fine football today.

Dean Standen : 6

Came on as sub,got stuck with his tackles & did well.

Just my personal opinions ladies & gents. Others may have seen it differently but thats how I saw it.

Agree with all the above, especially defence. Lucky for us Folkestone didn't have much to offer, with Matata far too deep and wide, and nobody else with enough skill up front.

Lovely passing, skill, control. If we take the points off Chelmo we can be justified in hoping for auto promotion.

I thought Abbott had an excellent game today, and would have rated him at least 8/10. We are lucky to have him and Robinson in that position. I slightly prefer Robinson, but on not much evidence admittedly.

Plenty of vocals from the bench today, Flanagan instructing Proths, who was marshalling the team. But where does that leave the manager? All a bit strange, don't you think?

MOM difficult; think I will have to go for SCS again. (Comedy moment, the match sponsors awarding MOM to a Folkestone forward who had hardly touched the ball. Score at the time 1-5; must have been a tough decision!)

PS Cookie, who's this Justin Jackson?

If we take points off Chelmsford then even I will be thinking it.No-one I'm sure is really talking that.I know it has been mentioned above but even Chris,in truth will know that its still early days. But hey, thats his opinion.

Personally I still think we have some way to go to be the finished article.Going well yes, but the victories havent been as sparkling as the scores have suggested. But the signs are very good & thats probably what Chris means really. But then he may really believe that at this stage of the season we are that kind of a team & if so then he has every right to believe it.To me its still early early days & the opposition, lets be honest, hasnt been the mightiest of oppositions for us to really believe that we are that kind of a team YET. Yes,Chelmsfords result will answer a few questions indeed I feel. But what a very good start..!!!

You're right when you say the opposition hasn't been up to much. We havent really been tested yet. Dont get me wrong, i'm very happy with the way we're playing especially when you consider what we've had to put up with for the last couple of seasons. I just think its a bit early to even think about promotion. If we're still playing well and in the top 6 at christmas then i'll be talking, no hoping, no expecting, no demanding promotion!
