GNFC are more popular than MFC

With one notable exception, every Fleet fixture this season has attracted more fans than the respective Margate fixture.

This is true of both home and away matches.

This only goes to show that Gravesend and Northfleet, are a much bigger draw all over the country than their counterparts from the other side of kent.

(The notable exception is Burton away , but this is not comparable as The Fleet played them midweek, and Margate played them on a Saturday.. The only other game that this is likely to occur is when Margate visit Yeovil, as Gravesend played this fixture at Dorchesters ground , and the attendance was greatly reduced from that of Yeovils norm)

I notice you have not taken into account the fact we are playing all are games in dover which is a 40 mile round trip.

Look at margate att last season for a better picture. [color:"blue"] [/color]

Are you saying that a few hundred people

don't think Margate are worth the 40 mile round trip?

I think that the point that I was making are that the attendances are higher for Fleet matches regardless of home and AWAY. Therefore it does not matter whether Margate play at the Crabble or HP.

Therefore this is either down to the Fleet having a bigger away support or, the Fleet attract more interest in the relative HOME teams support. It is probably that both of the above is true.

I am not suprised at this , as the Fleet are historically the bigger club out of the 2 Kent conference sides.

This is based on past records and may change, however based on the statistics to hand, this is unlikely.

re super daz your right people wont travel we played at hartsdown today the att was 1004 very few kettering fans (fair play to the ones who made the trip)more than twice what we get at crabble against a bottom half team.

we get a lot of stick from dover fans about our low att at crabble but until another team has to do the same they really cant say if they would fair any better.

re national anorak i can see what your saying but if you double margates home gates this season in line with last season wouldnt that make a big difference to the over all picture?

Also remember your a new team in this league so away fans will want to check you out so to speak. After seeing us and the football we played last year they might not bother watching margate again!

Which goes back to my original thought:

Quote Super Daz:

True, but either you have supporters or you don't.

That would apply to your away 'visitors' - either they support their teams or they don't.

If they don't - then they are not supporters.

Dover to margit is no less than 20 miles and it takes less than 20 mins to get their. In my opinon Gravesend have and are a far bigger club than Margit. 385 at the Telford game was it not??

Stop making excuses for your crap support!

I'm proud of being a MFC supporter. At least we don't slag off your club on our website. We respect you for doing so well. But i'm beginning to hate your support and club now. Your a disgrace.

Maybe you are a bigger club, with a bigger town!

But last season we were in the top half of the table at this stage which was our 1st season in the conference and we were a much better team than you.

Our lads never let us down, they are always over with the supporters talking and many people hate Dover so much because they are a load of tossers who will never forgive us as we are in the conf and they are in the doc Martens. Although i want all of us in the conf and to succeed.

At least we have a seaside resort, many nice and kind people and a club who tries to get along with everyone. Unlike Dover!

Your ground is in the middle of huge poisonous chimneys and tacky small houses.

People probably only travel to you to have a laugh at stuffing you and take the mick out of your beautiful scenery-not.

Merry flamin xmas- i wanted you to do well this season but its times like this you see who your true friends are.

The Kent teams should stand together but you don't want to so we'll just see who finishes the highest.

No Doubt it will be the Gate

Take it easy mfc sopporter as a fellow margate supporter i think you have over reacted some what!

There has been no real slagging off just opinions and banter.

I belive you may have been sparked off by the posting ignore them who i belive but i maybe wrong to be a dover fan.Margit being dover fans very clever pet name for us and also only a dover fan with their unhealthy obsession of margate attendances would know our telford attendance! As for margate only being 20 miles from dover, like i said 40 mile round trip.2o minutes!!! dont make me laugh.Sorry about my ranting just needed to get that off my chest.

Happy new year everybody
