Chelmsford 2-2 Billericay

I believe their first goal was credited to Hallett although I wouldnt be prepared to wager a large sum on it...

Hodges was about 25 yards out, a strike similar to Henty's against Kingstonian a couple of years ago...only Lee meant it!!!

A thoroughly entertaining game today and I'm happy with a point. Our support was first class, I'm sure the team appreciated it, I certainly did.

Tacitly I thought we were spot on, the Chelmsford attack were mainly restricted to long range shots, and Billy dealt with them comfortably. Yes we went two behind, but they were not yer run of the mill goal, first was a wicked deflection, and the second a defensive mix up which not only resulted in a goal, but also a nasty injury to Darren.

Chelmsford clearly has a class team, I was very impressed with notto, and there forwards will score lots of goals I'm sure. So for us to come back and earn a draw was all the more pleasing, it was worth attending today just to see Hodgies goal.

Our new never say die attitude has won us a few points already, and it will win us a lot more as the season unfolds.

I have read some of the comments on the Chelmsford message boards and on the whole I think they have been very fair. Good luck Chelmo for the rest of the season… and let’s hope you nick a point off Margate.

Great day. Great result (coming back from 2-0 for the draw feels like a win).

I'm sure we can take far more positives from that performance than Chelmsford can.

Shame about Blewitt but Swaine played really well.

And Hodges goal!!! Boy, did that make me happy!

And Billy WAS a Hero!

did you count

You'd be suprised at how many of us older, less vocal types there were around the edges NWS! I'd say 300 was a reasonable estimate.

Marvellous comeback, the boys fought really hard to get a deserved point, a huge well done to them. We should have had at least one goal in the first half (still no first half goals this season), but couldnt really complain about going in one down.

Our first goal looked like it might be offside, but a lovely flick from Nathan, and thankfully Flack was on the end of it to tuck it away nicely.

Our second goal was absolute magic. They shouldnt have given the ball away, but it was a beautiful strike and i couldnt believe it when i saw it fly into the corner.

Not normally one to celebrate a draw, but to come from behind against what was clearly a class Chelmsford side was exceptional.

If we can get performances like that week in week out well go far.

Also like to say that Hodges impresses me more and more as i keep seeing him. Not just his goal today, but his touch is very good for this level, and he looks so much more comfortable on the ball than anyone else. If he was a bit more mobile i have no doubt hed be at a higher level. Thats not a disparaging remark though, his fitness has clearly improved since last year. Well worth keeping hold of him.

Well done to the players and all the fans too, who kept singing even when 2-0 down. Roll on Saturday

i stood in the ricay end today 2nd half tremendous atmosphere...told neil wiltshire i was abandoning his position on the half way line. he said i won't see anything- i did two goals and a defo penalty so neil next time come with me to the ricay end....

I did get a full aural/visual experience of two Claret chaps berating the lino over the possibility of Flack's goal being a teensy weensy bit offside though !!! And what's with the real names DB?!?! Nitetime Neil on here please...

Absolutly brilliant day,

good game all in all.

if we had a got a pen in the 88th minute it would have been the most dubious decision in a long time and the most luck weve had in 3 seasons (combined)

Chelmsford support stunned me, to have your team be 2-0 up and not get behind them....to conceed a goal and not get behind them...to have us equalize and not get behind them is outstanding.

i think when there first goal went in first thing i heard was the blue army chant.

numbers id say 250 easy, possibly more. what was the offical attendance?

We didn't have the megaphone thats why the vocal support was down. Unfortunately I was on the A1 coming back from Newcastle, so missed the game

In some ways I'm quite glad as I don't think I could of stood seeing us waste a 2-0 lead.

Congratluations on getting a draw though and unbeaten records kept in check.

A pleasing aspect for me was that we went into the game without Elder starting. Last season that would've hurt us, yesterday it didn't. Also during the course of the game we lost Blewitt and replaced him with Swaine, a youth team product, who came on and was outstanding. We lost Dormer and he was replaced by Hodges, he came on and was outstanding. All those on the bench have a case to start a game and for the first time in years, we've real strength in depth on the bench.
