The crowds were pretty decent again last night for midweek. We got nearly 70, and there didn't seem to be any Holmer fans, not bad at all for a Tuesday night game. Our ave was 46 last season, so far we have had 67 & 75, well up on last season.

The next two home games should see decent crowds, as Harefield look to have good support so I would expect to see a few of them at the WLG, and then Hertford in the Vase should hopefully see over 100.

St Margaretsbury probably had more than 60 last night but quite a lot were ressies and youth team non payers that came in for the second half..

Not a great game, both teams playing long ball or battling it out in the middle.. no width at all to either sides play, especially St Mags. St Mags keeper threw the first one in his own net, high cross that he fumbled. Second after about half hour, ball over the top and Bury square at the back, Alan Arthur finished cooley.

Second half much the same until St Mags made a triple substitution, went two up top and started playing with some wide players. Players got more time and actually played a bit more football and created some half chances. Leverstock also had some chances but game finished 0-2.

Highlight of the evening must've been the power cut with 5 seconds left on the watch.. replay?

For the 5 millionth time.. I'm injured, long term! I just went to watch. First time I think I've ever paid to get in there and I want my £5 back!!

Will depend if I'm able to play senior football or not. Then it will depend on the management and whether they think they'll have a place for me if fit.

Gavin - What's the latest on this, do you have an updated list you can post unless AWK has figures for all three divisions at his finger tips.

HTFCew - Thanks but I tend not go go on the Mitoo site that often, I'm still finding it a bit on the cumbersome side.

Well spend a bit of time learning then! It's the official site for SSMFL results/scorers/attendances - why transcribe it to something else?

I have noticed a lot more new faces coming through the gate at Hertford, hope they keep coming back, also children now get in for free with a full paying adult. When I went to St. Margaretsbury I was charged £2.50 each for my children, that is not going to attract a family to go and support the local team. I know it does not sound a lot of money but when you consider all the other things kids have- chips, coke and chocolate etc. it mounts up at the end of the day.

No disrespect to any club at this level of football but I think £1 would be a fair charge for kids and clubs will make more revenue in the clubhouse, afterall clubs need to attract new supporters and many Dads who go and watch there local team will take the family, and hopefully keep coming back.

I think this highlights several things in this division with regards to revenue in this division. A lot of clubs in this division supplement there revenue with profits from the bar and snax shop as well as selling old programmes and other items such as replica shirts etc. At other clubs like St Mags our only matchday income is from the gate. The bar is owned and run by the Sports & social trust of which the football club gets no benefits or income. For me this shows the gulf between the "big" clubs and the smaller village clubs like ours. Please don't play the violin that is not the point to this. It is simply that bigger revenued clubs can take a cut on there income on the gate if it is "juggled" to other parts of the overall income. We as a small club don't have that luxury which I imagine is the same throughout the league for the smaller clubs.

Good point Tubbsy, but it's virtually impossible for visitors to know the background, so they tell it as they see it! All I'll say is , the bigger you are, the more bills you get!

I wish Edgware had a club shop, and tea bar. We do have a tea bar, its called the boardroom <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> the bar used to sell some items, I am still trying to get some items for sale. Hopefully we should have replica shirts by xams for sale.

I am well aware it is difficult to tell if you don't know the club hence the reason to explain things. I agree the bigger you are the bigger the bills or the bigger amounts people expect from you!
