If the referre gave the penalty for handball, then it was a Staines player that handled it, I could see that from the other end of the ground!

For the record:.

 

The pen was given for hand ball, and as we know, the ref did consult his linesman, who, confirmed it was indeed a hand ball. So it's no surprise that our players were a little incensed at the decision.

 

For those of you who were not at the game, it was like this. A Staines player went through one on one with Billy, the Staines lad, in his attempt to round Billy, loses his footing, falls, and handles the ball. The only other ricay player in the vicinity was a fast approaching Danny Kerrigan who was getting back to make a goal line clearance, but the whistle had gone before he got there.

 

Fair play to the ref though, he was man enough to view the video, (many wouldn’t) admit he was wrong, and apologise.

Bill made the save anyway, so no harm done.

 

Well done Billy, well done all, our first 3 points of the season, and what a pleasant change to see a blue shirt scoring in the last minute.
