Kingsbury got stuffed 5-2 at home!!!!!!!!

FOUR teams scored SEVEN goals!!!!! Chalfont / Harefield/ London Colney/ and....Hertford !!!!

I make that FIFTY ONE goals in ten games today!!!

If Hertford can score SEVEN away to Tring, then I think we can do the same to some of these clubs.

Wild set of results.

Anyone know what was wrong with Oxhey's pitch, we had a couple of WGC guys at our game today but thought they might just be scouting

Tring had a good FA Cup result but too poor league results. They are normally a resilient side difficult to break down but don't score a lot either.

AWK - Yes I was beginning to get a bit worried following those two early defeats, hope you have turned the corner. What was Alex Roberts goal like, a Takumi special from 30 yards or a simple tap in.

It could have been like watching the Dutch side of 74, a ten man passing movement that had 22 passes strung together with Roberts swerving his way past three challenges before slamming the ball home from 40 yards, or it could have been a tap in from a free kick, I'll let you decide.

AWK - Well if it was the former then Lato will no doubt be getting over excited 'as we speak' in his little corner of West London. Hopefully Alex Roberts can put another one in tomorrow against Kent Athletic. Incidentally I see that your attendance was down as only 7 yesterday, was that a misprint.

Not sure whether this is the best thread for it but here is a report from the Kingsbury v Langford game on Saturday which makes good reading in what must be one of the surprise results of the season thus far:

The Reds paid their first visit to Silver

Jubilee Park to take on one of the five teams that had transferred from the now defunct Ryman League Division 2 during the close season. In a game that was to see four justified penalties awarded the Reds were to emerge emphatic winners to be one of only three Premier Division sides with a 100% record by the end of the afternoon. The action began as early as the fourth minute when Robert Groves put Wes Byrne in on goal only for the Reds forward to be brought down by Marcos Lansiquot. A red card for the home defender and a penalty for Langford. Last seasons leading goal scorer Robert Groves struck home the spot kick for his first of the season to open the scoring. Six minutes later and the Tigers equalised. Dorian Small’s foul on John Muneghina for the second penalty of the game, Leonardo Ferreira making no mistake firing past Boorman. Despite being reduced to ten the home forced the pace and Yousef Elteresi so nearly added to his double strike against Broxbourne in midweek but this time he blasted wide when well placed. The game was now being played end to end and John Coley forced a good save from the home keeper. It was the Groves, Byrne combination again that carved out the Reds taking the lead in the thirty sixth minute. Wes Byrne collecting the Langford’s skipper pass before beating two defenders and rounding the goalkeeper and pushing the ball over the line. A very well taken goal indeed, to put the Reds 2-1 up in an exciting game. With less than a minute before the break Marc Barnes started a good run down Tigers right beating two defenders before squaring the ball back to John Coley to score from three yards. HT 1-3.

The second half began with the home side producing some good football to give Langford some anxious moments. Their efforts being rewarded with the award of the afternoon’s third penalty when John Muneghina was sandwiched between two defenders. A change of taker but the same result as Yousef Eltresi fired home to put the ten men Tigers within the one goal of the visitors. The chance for Langford to restore their two goal advantage came soon afterwards when John Coley was clattered down by the home keeper. Robert Groves penalty lacked the power of the first and was saved. Gareth Grant who had a busy afternoon in midfield then struck the upright with a shot. Two substitutions saw Ricardo Small and Dave Drury leave the action to be replaced by Rhys Davies and Joe Delasalle. Coley shot weakly at the keeper from a well worked position as the Reds pushed forward to kill the game off. A hard working Marc Barnes was then replaced by Lee Pateman and it was the substitutions that were eventually to make the game safe. With fifthteen minutes remaining a Joe Delasalle free kick was deflected by Marco Leite past his own keeper to restore a two goal lead and in the final minute Rhys Davies made an impressive run down the left to cross for Lee Pateman to head home for the final goal of the game.
