First quick post match report for you

A deserved victory.

Much the better side in first half that was played at quite a high tempo but with neither keeper having any real shot to save.

Plenty of posession for you.

A few snap shots from McDonald

After 40mins you had a cast iron penalty go unrewarded when Keeling brought down;which would have closed the game down entirely.

Second half-FGR had a bit more possession than gravesend, but no end product and did not really threaten.

First 20 mins of half was quite good football from both sides aswell, but then it went downhill.

Don't think Gravesend had any chances in second half apart from after 96 mins when 2 on 1,Macdonald had a tap in from 5 yards, and had somehow managed to run offside with no other player anywhere near him.A bit dumb of him. !!!

Thought McCarthy led your side well, and Quinn is class .

Overall, a professional performance by gravesend, and was quite impressed.

I have to concede that whilst i think Protheroe would still get in the Gravesend team,i don't think JJ,Mckimm and Skinnner would, but at least my first love (just ) scraped a win today;so have to say that Daish probably got it right over the summer.

will be interested to read how your hardened travelling fans saw it.I try and see it as a neutral ,though as a local to Nailsworth now i did want FGR to win.

Off to commit suicide via the FGR forum now

Up the 'Gate.

Got the report about right.

Impressed by the new facilities at the ground and the program shop upstairs had an immense range. Even managed to replace Hereford v Fleet from last year that got thrown out.The bar was spacious and had a few facilities.

As for the game. keeling was a defo penalty , yet a few around me accused him of diving. Cant see that at all.

James Smith looked comfortable at the back especially in the second half . Charle dropped depp often to assist. Luke didnt seem 100% but a vast improvement on last season.

Ross smith came into the game more.

All in all a professional display , and 3 point Monday will make me a happybunny.

The facilities at the ground were great, but let down by such a poor atmosphere.

On the balance of play we deserved to win, and our first half performance was brilliant with some slick pass and move plus some amazing long balls by DeBolla to find Keeling in which 2 should of resulted in a penalty.

Luke and Charlie upfront both have amazing first touches and seemed to work in tandon very well indeed. Without creating that many chances between them, always looked a constant threat and capable of doing something.

At the back we were very solid. Ross never seems to miss a header, McCarthy was solid and made some great challenges as did James along with some excellent distribution.

Rob Quinn, is the player this club has needed for a long time. Good tackler to stop the attacks against us, and great passing range to set up the counter attack or just keep possession.

Man of the match was between Ross Smith and Keeling for me, Keeling with some great skill and beat there right back repeatedly on numerous occasions, but pipped by Ross as he had a very, very solid game at the back.

A very professional performance indeed, and will be made all the sweeter if we can take maximum points on Monday.

I must confess it was a real advert for what you can get if you save up your nectar points. I wonder how far the building work had gone before anyone realised that they had forgotten to put a roof all down one side?

It's all very well having posh hospitality boxes and the like, but what about your average fan. I can just see it in the winter with everybody huddling behind the goals to keep out of the weather.

Still I suppose that when they are playing in front of 150 in Conference North, it won't really matter.

Brian: I hope you were there and saw how not to do it.

The ground looked tidy. decent size facility room and prompt service at bar , though it wasnt that busy.

Shop was big enough to support its need with a decent range of stuff on sale. The programme shop upstairs was a goldmine for my mate. hes a groundhopper and programme collector/dealer.he spent a few quid.

One thing that strikes me though is , where are the supporting business`s ie Gym , Cinema , Club etc to help pay for it all.

I hope that when we go ahead witha new ground , we have some supporting business`s. maybe a franchise arrangement similar to the place round the back of Ketterings ground.

I thought it was Jason's turn to play Chairman.

Very good first half followed by a poor second half. It's becomming clear that when Keeling ticks we tick. Hope we don't come to depend on him too much.

Brian is responsible for the new ground. If you can't keep up stick to Confguide.
