Good performance from Slough. Ours came as Wallace was allowed to stride forward through the middle and pick his spot in the bottom corner with a good finish.

the right result on Monday when we host Horsham.

Gaz it looked as though Wallace's shot was very nearly saved, keeper got a lot on it..

Monday normal time or earlier btw?

A game we should have got at least a point from if not all 3. Decent goal from Wallace but I am personally still not impressed with what seems like a lazy attitude 90% of the time, if he is injured then put Harris or Gibson in! He should have gone off today when Ani went off. Jarvis was excellent today, apart from one stupid moment. We had a free kick which Glynn chipped in but it was going too near the keeper. As soon as Jarvo saw that he wasn't reaching it, he stopped looking at the ball and ploughed head first into the keeper. He was lucky to escape a booking at the very least. Saying that Margate were lucky not to finish with 9 as their player/manager Trott should have gone after he blocked Ani when clean through, and then the number 12 committed what looked a very nasty challenge on Dell which left him limping for the last 10. All in all not bad apart from a shoddy first 10 in the 2nd half, lots to build on for Monday!!!

I saw that tackle and our number 12 won the ball before he went into the player. I thought you guys were good today, looking forward for our next game against you and good luck for future games.

Today we were definately unlucky to come away without at least a point. Couple of very dodgy decisions against us which could have changed the course of the game.

My only grips about the match is what seems to be a tendancy to start slow in the 2nd half, which has cost us goals (Harrow excluded). Also I agree with Radders regards to Wallace - its obvious hes carrying an injury and shouldnt be playing.

Cheers Guys,

Out of interest who was the local nutter going around claiming things like 'Our coach had been done over' and 'Hoddle is the new manager of Sunderland' and 'we better watch our backs as the Margate boys are coming to get us'. He was an old bloke with a hearing aid. The bloke was mad!!!

There was no offence caused, I thought it was hilarious! He claimed...

1) Hoddle was the new manager of Sunderland

2) Drake broke a finger in the first half and would be replaced at half time by 'a centre half'

3) Our coach had been broken into by 'local yobs' who then proceeded to urinate in it!

...amongst other things!

One word sums up today: irritating.

We played very well - decent football and basically there were three moments where we switched off defensively. One lead to Hockton missing hilariously and the other two lead to goals. Whilst in the second half they had the bulk of possession they did not create that much. Jarvis was immense today. Wallace's goal was class but he did seem disinterested/injured half the time.

I think he'd been before. He told me not to stand in the covered end in the second half because Margate fans had beaten up and hospitalised a load of opposition fans last season! I'm sure that's not true at all!

Anyway, it was very disappointing to be hit with two quick-fire goals like that after playing very well in the first half and limiting Margate's chances. We also could have scored a couple more with a bit of luck. Margate really picked up the pace superbly in the second half and sadly were able to keep the 2-1 lead without any real scares. There are some positives out there though, and on this evidence there's no reason why we should go into any game fearing a hiding - though we're still not creating enough for our strikers.

Agree matt. Think on balance ET looked better going forward but you looked a bit better in defence. We took our two goals well i thought but we do have more quality in attack this year.

The old boy was certainly incorrect about bully boys. Even in a conf days i only saw one real act of violence when Boston came down and our hard core was onnly separated by a fence. Other than that Wealdstone last year but i was not there. Nothing like the 60's when we played Aldershot in the cup. They were then in the old 3'rd division. Coppers helmets knocked off etc. showing my age! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

Thought we as supporters were in better form today particularly in the first half - the covering helped. Can we try and make a bit of noise for a "home" game on Monday?
