Great Performance

Came along yesterday as quite a number of our fans did and I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw. The standard of football from St. Albans much better than I had first expected.

 

Aldershot were poor, a Barnet-esque performance and it showed me that there is not much of a difference between the feeder leagues and the Conference, you'd piss on teams such as Leigh RMI and Scumenage.

 

I stood with the "EFM" for most of the game and that was one of the best non-league atmospheres I've been in for a while, loud, non-stop and a great range of songs. St. Albans City deserve a place in the Conference from what I saw yesterday.

 

Perhaps the next time I come to Clarence Park will be in the away end, we'll see. If you play like that though, there's no doubt whatsoever that you're coming up. Hopefully it will become a friendly rivalry.

 

I thought Gledhill looked his composed self still, we really shouldn't have let him go, what do you think of him?

It was good to play so well in a game that probably attracted a few newcomers. A mate of mine came to his first Saints match (admittedly it was because he was hired to work as a steward!) and he was dead impressed with how well we played.

 

Hopefully there'll be a few more first-timers who saw the match and want to come back for more.
