Where we left off - Crowds

I still reckon it SHOULD be higher. Nothing to play for - last game of the season. 1st game people waiting to see what happens / on hols? I'm convinced that once (note optimism) we start winning home games attendances will grow - particulalry with the bigger clubs.

Average for last season was 690. So not far out & staying at a solid mark. Agree Steve. Hopes should be high for an increase this year. Is that elusive 1000 attainable this year on more than one occasion. YES! It damn well should be.

As you say Steve, things are better all round this season i.e Players, expectations plus those facts you mention.

Its imperative though that the results at HOME are victories to maintain & increase these figures. Many Margate folk at home just look at the result before deciding to come along. Thats what we need them to see on a regular basis victory after victory at HOME.I am expecting a crowd similar to that of Tuesday but being a Saturday hopes are high that we SHALL see some increase despite the draw on Tuesday.

Will be interesting to see!

Crowds do seem generally down, and indeed Wimbledon's first attendance was about 600 down on opening fixture last season.

Put that in the pot, and Tuesday nights attendance seemed pretty good really.

If we can get 850 tomorrow-equally good imo.

2 wins and Chelmsford should see over 1000.

A winning team will pull the crowds-simple as that really

(i think KP and Jim Parmenter went to the same school of accounting-802 at Dover and their crowds are always just over the appropriate hundred denominator aswell )

Yes indeed, there are other factors to take into consideration & quite rightly. As you say CE away fans may sway the balance in that that figure WILL be increased. The Rams are away(they dont really get too many going to away games)so maybe they will step over to our patch to take a look. The first game this season to be fair, for a Tuesday night, was a very good turn out & last years final game was played on a Saturday I believe. So the signs are good. A saturday match should see some improvement. But whatever we do whatever we say you are correct MM in that winning will see them come & support more than any other reason.

On second thoughts a crowd of 800 should be achievable despite Tuesdays slightly disappointing result.Again,it will be interesting to see!

Absolutely agree on the importance of home games. I have always maintained that you'll get higher gates if you do well at home ven at the expense of away results / form (sorry regular travelling supporters).

I dont! It was part joke you idiot.Tongue in cheek an'all that. Now go away or take it in the spirit it was intended.

However I apologise if its offended you but it wasnt intended for a Ramsgate fan on a Margate forum so really I should be saying "tough" rather than be apologetic.

My fault for trying to crack a funny at their expense. My point was that both sets of fans should find it educational & perhaps beneficial, footballwise to sus out other future oppositions, when we are playing away & cant get there or not watching the reserves.I think it would be good in that way & also for added gate receipts for both clubs by doing so.I cant see any shame in doing that.

My fault for trying to bring a bit of fun into it.Pity some, sorry one, couldnt see that.Maybe I hit a nerve.

Now,back to the subject of the thread. I reckon 801 or 802 tomorrow....at Hartsdown, naturally, of course! l.o.l.

l.o.l 2!

(Actually I thought that the Rams got a good result at the Dons and the what-ever-many fans would have gone home truely satisfied).

People come to watch a successful team, especially if the home form is good. We need Hartsdown Park to be our fortress, where it is the norm that we win and that people want to keep coming back!

Abdullah the Pliny!

Of course we think it was a good result but lets not tell them that.Ooops, therein lies a future "quote". Have to watch how we give praise to them dont we SSS.? l.o.l.

Got me at it again there Abs.

I reckon 801 or 802 tomorrow...hopefully,but better still hopefully more!

Trotty still unbeaten in league games since he took over both Home & Away. Hope having just said that it dosent alter that fact.
