Braintree Town are reeling after learning that summer signing Dwayne Plummer will have to serve a ten-match suspension.

 

The striker's Cressing Road future is in doubt after he failed to inform Iron boss George Borg about the lengthy ban, enforced after he was sent off twice last season for his last club, AFC Wimbledon.

 

He was named in the squad for Braintree's trip to play Lewes in the Nationwide Conference South on Saturday.

 

 

And, although he was banned, he would have played in the match, had it not been for a courtesy call from AFC Wimbledon to Braintree secretary Tom Woodley
