Team And Predictions For The Weekend

I've nowt against Hunter, in fact I think he has played well but against Staines and Chelmsford, I think we will need a bit of steel in the midfield a Warren, if fit, is both creative and hard.

 

As for scores...Well, Staines are always a tough team for us and I will go for 2 - 1 to the Blues.

 

v Chelmsford...depends, I will go for 1 all but watch out for their attempts of gamesmanship, especially in the box...two pens in two games may tell us enough.

Would normally before a game v Staines take a point but if we can keep the ball moving along the floor then we have a good chance. Suspect Wozza will be back for this one also. Wonder if we will get to see what the Korean chap can do at some stage or whether Matt has a different game plan to counter Staines.

According to today's Echo the signing of Chris Whelpdale from Maldon has been completed so he's surely gonna play some part tomorrow.

 

Apparently Morgan is available again too, so it will be interesting to see if Flack retains his place.

There seems to be some confusion over Chris Whelpdale and a possible re-engagement at Maldon.

 

I think it's a similar type of situation as we had with Billy, we will have to wait for a definitive answer from the FA. This may take a week or two.

 

Chris will be a fantastic addition to our squad, so let’s hope the FA doesn’t take to long in confirming the situation.

So...to clear up the position (only because I'm a bear of very little brain)...

 

Chris Whelpdale is he / will he a 'Ricay player?

 

Danny Morgan. Has he signed, is he a 'Ricay player?

He was there number seven Barry who seem to play everywhere although I think he suppose to be a midfielder, was injured at Maldon for part of last season. Looks like a good signing if it goes through.

Danny Morgan has signed a short term FA contract, we would like him to stay.

All things being well, and with Danny's agreement, we're hopefull of extending his contract for a full season..

 

 

Chris Whelpdale wore No 7 for Maldon in our cup final. We expect him to be officially confirmed as a ricay player, by the FA, in the next week or two.

 

I will add though, Maldon are hoping that they have retained him for the season and the FA will rule in their favour.

 

We will have to be patient and await confirmation from the FA.

I remember Chris Whelpdale last season when we played Maldon at home. Stood out then and I thought the same when we played them this season. Would be a good signing for us.

Whelpdale was the hardest working player on the pitch during the EFT final and he never gave up right to the end. He will be a tremendous addition to the team.
