Well Done Boys!

After a dismal first half display the boys were superb in the second half and extra time. Some great individual performnaces. The keeper and back four were excellent as were the front two. But Jamie Wallace was the difference. An absolutely wonderful display. A special mention to our youngster Chico. The boy is getting better with each game and is a pleasure to work with because he listens and learns. Took a bit of stick during the Burnham game and was rested against St Margaretsbury in the first game but showed a great team attitiude. Never moaned and was still laughing and joking. Came back in last night and was excellent.

 

The only negative point was the attitude of certain people who were not playing. After our last sub everyone disappeared from the bench and it was only myself, Jamie, Kirk and the subbed player there. Also a player who was not even in the squad stood and cheered the team on from the bench. Great attitude. On the other bench all the players stayed to watch and support. One or two players commented that during extra time they looked at the bench and saw no-one there and were very dispapointed and annoyed. Thats not the way to build team spirit.

 

But thats not going to detract from a great night and a great achievement. But we need to foregt that and move on to Saturday and play with the same passion and pride as we did in the second half of the match.

Re the attitude of certain players, BOMB THEM OUT!!! That kind of thing can split a squad and create disharmony.

 

I know it was p1ssing down with rain last night (I was at Bowers watching the ressies), but for f*cks sake, it was the first time in 57 YEARS Eton Manor have progressed in the greatest club knock-out competition in the world.
