F.A. Cup vs. The Ghosts

Hello Canvey Island people!

What do you think about your F.A. Cup chances this season? I know we (Fakenham Town) are a few leagues below you lot, but I reckon you may be in for a tough game. Hopefully we'll bring a few supporters down there and you'll make them welcome and we'll have a good game. Let us know what we can expect come Saturday 9th Sept. and feel free to jump on the Fakenham message board at www.fakenhamtownfc.co.uk to create a bit more interest at our end!

Cheers and good luck in the league!

How many supporters do you normally get for a average home league game?

as low as 70 sometimes, and as high as 150 if we're playing local rivals and City are playing away! Our highest gate this season was 2200 vs. Norwich City in a pre-season friendly ! lol

We deserve more as we now have superb new facilities and have a lovely ground with a great pitch and try to play decent footie!!!

As much as I hope the game doesn't go to a replay, sounds like it would be a good trip. As Southend and West Ham are on international breaks, I think the crowd could top 600-700.

On the pitch we're a young side but improving every match. Should be a good game and I hope you enjoy your stay.

thanks for that... though i guess most of the lads staying over will come in cars so dont suppose we'll need the taxi and bus?

I'd like to see a replay also, i think the name and reputation of canvey would produce a lot of interest in norfolk and a better gate at clipbush park.

would many canvey fans come all the way up to north west norfolk in midweek???

Nice one Canveylad0, its good to have a few choices and a fair idea of where we're going before the night in question. So where do most of the Canvey lads go for a night out.. Southend or Basildon or either/or?

We usually opt for Norwich or Kings Lynn as Fakenham has more of a village feel to its night out!

southend is always the better option, there are about 8 clubs and loads of bars so there is more choice than basildon, plus there are slightly less chavs (please note i only said slightly less)

i havent had a night out in Kings Lynn for years, my aunt used to live right near it and we had to take a little boat into town (very interesting getting home wánkered)

Fakenham is a lovely part of the world. My parents have a holiday home up near that way so it's a shame the game wasn't away as I could have had a pleasant weekend staying up there.

I've seen your ground whilst I've been up there and it's quite neat and tidy. Not too far from the racecourse I believe?
