Rhodes
Quote: HTFCew said: Rhodes - you haven't mentioned how Takumi played. HTFCew - No you're right, I purposely didn't as I don't want to be accused of hyping him up hence why this thread hasn't been used for well over a month. Takumi played virtually the whole game and needless to say he had a blinder although unfortunately he had an altercation with our player, namely the Great Tom McMullen and that left a bit of a sour taste in the mouth. He also won a penalty near the end with us leading 3-2 and took it himself only for our keeper Darren Cox to make a miracle save, of Gordon Banks proportions, low to his left, Takumi simply couldn't believe it as it was certainly one of the best penalties I've ever seen taken, Peter Lorimer style, and I've never known him to miss one. For those of us not present, could you explain how our mate Domino "won" the penalty?
Rhodes
Potters Bar Town - If you must know Takumi was tackled inside the box with about ten minutes of the proceedings remaining and went to ground, the Referee had no hesitation in pointing to the penalty spot however as I said earlier although Takumi's kick was faultless our reserve keeper made a truly memorable save, firstly guessing the right way and then diving full length to his left, Peter Bonetti like, to somehow push the ball out. phoinex
PBT - the tackle was the result of him going to ground for the penalty, but this was the only occasion that it was warranted, on numerous times he looked for the free kicks with little or no contact or maybe a strong gust of wind. Rhodes
I've seen Peter Bonetti have some real blinders, it's a shame every one judges him on the infamous game in Leon in 1970.
