it looks like we are goign for the brazil approach, ie never mind the gaps at the back, jsut create loads of chances

Having the Brazil <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bow.gif" alt="" /> approach is fine....but they generally score from their chances ! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/boxing.gif" alt="" />

How did blackie play great signing for your mob !! great player and top man good luck mate !!

He has played 2 games.
Played in front of back line but looked much more "in it" when he pushed up a bit.
Made the goal on Saturday.
I think he is a good signing and has played well in the 2 games so far.
Not sure what other Towners think.
Early days.

I think one player don't make a team but a team of better quality players as Jim has tried to assemble including Michael then we have to be in with a good chance and I'm sure Michael if on form will feature large in those plans.

I've only seen the Wabbey game, but I must say the squad looks strong. If we have players like Smith and Hughes unused on the bench, our attacking options are good. And the midfield looked creative. But as several people point out, it's early days.

Now that we have a reserve team there can be no excuse for constant tinkering with the side, once a "strongest side" becomes evident. Of course there will be some changes as players lose or gain form, a reserve team player consistently doing well will deserve a chance in the first team, competition is vital. Perhaps in some of the lesser cups we can field a hybrid first/second team, but in general a more settled side has got to be a Good Thing.

What about L'Honore???

And has Stevens definately left the club?

PS..Will Ritchie get a look in this season. He was kicking around with the subs at the Abbey, but wasn't on the bench.

Yes but if you'd have read the Stevenage Comet this week from Arlesey Town writer you'd have thought they had already won the championship in their first match of the season against Potters Bar. Those less skillful boys Potters Bar I think came away with a point, so fan reports will always display a bias to their own team and we are no different. They only signed Craig Rydeheard and James Gray.
