48 Hour Conference Challenge - Update 04

Well, this is it. We are now in the final days of preparation for taking on the challenge. As the departure date gets closer, the enormity of the task starts to be realised, and we can now see how important the planning has been, and how much we are relying on everyone around us for support and assistance.

The messages from fans and officials at other clubs has continued again this last week to astound us. Although our arrival times at the grounds have been carefully planned, we know only too well how this can be affected by traffic, or other events outside our control. With so many stops scheduled in such a short time, a delay at any point would obviously put us behind for all the remaining stops that day! So, please be patient if you are meeting us on our tour. Up to date location information will be relayed via BBC Radio Lancashire and The Bay in the Lancaster & Morecambe area, as well as other stations throughout the country. We can also be contacted on our travels via 0781 77 11 716 should you require an updated estimated arrival time.

A couple of the latest messages we have received this week are:

Crawley Town: “Our fans have had links with the Morecambe fans for a number of years now, indeed prior to either one of us being in the Conference. Although we are struggling financially, and currently in turmoil, we will do all we can to support you. We will gladly donate an item for your auction, and will attempt to arrange a collection which will be presented to you from our supporters club. We wish you all the success in completing your mission.” Vic Marley, CTFC.

Stevenage Borough: Great initiative. Representatives of Stevenage Boro FC Supporters Association will be in attendance at the Main Entrance to Stevenage Football Club on Sunday 27th. Good luck with the challenge. Mervyn Stokes-Geddes, SA Secretary, SBFC.

Hmmm, I think they will be a bit later!

It may only be a Sunday (bank holiday) but to get round virtually the entire M25 from Woking to St Albans via Crawley, Gravesend, Grays and Dagenham in just under 4 hours may be a tad optamistic!

Good job you give yourself plenty of overnight time

Good Luck from me!
